[FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion

Re: [FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion -- NOW WITH UNROOTED

dude, i love this program. paid for it. but cant reload it. i flashed a new ROM and went back to download it. and its gone. i hate hdmwin. this was badass app. how can I get again??? help
I put a link in the post above yours.

Google has decided to pull the app out of the market because of all the user complaints it received about it. They have not sent me any emails about the take-down, nor they are responding to my emails.
I clearly stated in the description that I can make FullHDMI compatible with HTC's GB after they release their source code, which they have not yet. This is how it was possible to bring it to Froyo and it is the only way to fix it for GB.
For those who need to redownload the app and cannot because of the take-down, I have uploaded the apk here: FullHDMI_1_4_0_beta. This was the last build I had of the app and was in the middle of creating a widget when the whole GB issue came up.

If you would like to see FullHDMI back on the market, please send an email to Android market (android-market-support@google.com) asking to reinstate the app.

Thanks.

Ugh, that sucks x.x - here's hoping it gets re-added asap, still loving this app and thanks for all your hard work on it

Re: [FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion -- NOW WITH UNROOTED

We ALL have to do something about this. We ALL have to email our concern for this application we ALL love. Orrebmas put too much time in this application to just let it get blocked from the Market. The email link Orrebmas left is no longer working and directs you to this, https://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/bin/request.py?contact_type=market_website. For the people with little time or are very busy, no worries, I got 'cha, 20 seconds wont hurt. Just fill in the blanks and copy and paste the pre written concern note I wrote. There is a little box for a quick description on the link, but it will allow this to be copied into it.

To whom it may concern,
It was brought to our (HTC EVO 4G owners) attention that one of the best apps EVER created for the HTC Evo 4G has been pulled from the market by Goolge. FullHDMI was the best thing to happen to our Evos and Google also has taken one of the best developers out of reach of the public eye. Orrebmas has made an app that REALLY put life back into the HTC EVO 4G. Speaking for myself and probably everyone else, I use this app EVERYDAY (I MEAN EVERYDAY) and when I get updates, it only get better! Now, I understand all the complaints that were posted toward the app for non-gingerbread compatibility, but he clearly stated in the description that he can make FullHDMI compatible with HTC's GingerBread after HTC releases their source code, which they have not yet released. Knowing Orrebmas, pre-market AND market days, he has been a dedicated and devoted developer and would have had it up and running in no time if the source code have been available to him. It's very sad to see an application pulled from the market that has helped made our phones complete and pushed to it's full potential, even when HTC has no desire to help or even acknowledge our needs for the phone they provided US with. GOOGLE, ORREBMAS IS NOT SORRY FOR CARING FOR HTC's PRODUCT MORE THAN THEY DO. So, whom ever is reading this, please bring back this VERY UNIQUE application that hundreds or maybe thousands of Evo'ers enjoy and love. Thanks.

Orrebmas, thanks for the link to the app, had lost mine on a reset. Hands down the best app for the EVO! I'm still calling HTC weekly to ***** about the non compliance, gonna follow up on kings link and e-mail Google as well. That's BS they pulled the app from market!

Re: [FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion -- NOW WITH UNROOTED

my camera or videos app won't work on my phone after putting a 720p kernel on it. The HDMI output works for FullHDMI, but like I said the other apps don't work on the phone.

Any idea if there's any compatibility issue? I'm running Fresh 4.2, which is based off the latest Sprint HTC Evo rom. If there is an compatibility issue, is there a way to revert back somehow so I can use my camera app again? No idea how to uninstall a kernel. Thanks.

Submitted my complaint to Google market using King's pre-made rant :)
Here's to when the app is back at FullPower ^__^

Re: [FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion -- NOW WITH UNROOTED

Orrebamas, maybe you could do something similar to what yongzh did and try hosting the app on slideme? I also saw something clever that the creator of PDA Net did. They got removed from the market, but went back and submitted a "read me" document that directed customers to their website. I don't know the status of your developer account, but that could work?

I know you have a huge following, and you deserve better than this. I posted my complaint to Google with kings link, i just hope they listen.

Re: [FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion -- NOW WITH UNROOTED

Received an email from Google today. They are claiming a TOS agreement violation as to the reason FULLHDMI was pulled. In looking over the TOS there are five things that may apply. Product support/updates, user complaints, refunds, carrier/device manufacturer request and intellectual property . As many of you know, I've been a part of this project since the public beta. I can find no valid reason that supports any of the possible violations. So unless there is more to the story, Google just has their ass hat on and hasn't really looked into the matter.

The frustrating part is Google never even bothered sending me an email about the take-down. I found out when I logged into my dev account. Countless emails later and still did not get a response. Not even a generic, copy/paste type, text that at the very least states the obvious. Called Android Market customer service and they said they only deal with customer questions and not developers. They claimed they have no access to info about the take down and would forward my request to the correct group. To this day still I still have nothing in my inbox.

Some users have forwarded me the customer service email response about the TOS violation. I read the two documents numerous times and there is no rule that FullHDMI violates.
I was refunding anybody who did not want to wait for HTC to release the sources and had the app for less than two weeks. I actually have had this two-weeks refund policy since the early days of the project's market launch.
One point that came up is intellectual property. I found out that one possible reason why Netflix did not support HDMI out on the EVO (which is as simple as calling videoview api) is because of HDMI licensing fees. Whether or not this was the reason is something Google's developer support will not be able to tell us, since that department does not seem to exist.
I dont think Sprint would be behind the take-down, they wouldn't cripple one of their best devices. I think the fact that it happened a week before the EVO 3D launch is just a coincidence.
The only sure thing in this matter is that Google received countless complaints because of GB compatibility for users, which was confirmed to me by the market's customer support.
What matters in the end is that the TOS states that Google has the right to pull any app out of the market and/or suspend a dev's account without a reason or warning.

I did not know about slideme before, I will check it out. Thanks Bradley.

You've really been thrown through the ringer from start to finish with this project. Its a damn shame.

Let me know if there's anything AC can do for you and ill try to get it done.

Re: [FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion -- NOW WITH UNROOTED

So it seems that I'm now completly locked out of the FullHDMI site, thanks COX cable. I had intended to work with Sam and set up some sort of purchasing system but this will need to wait til I have the money for hosting (a week, two at the most). I'm optimistic about getting things back on track but again the final say goes to Sam.

Re: [FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion -- NOW WITH UNROOTED

And from the ashes, the phoenix shall rise.
I have faith in you Sam (And of course, in you as well Loki for all your hard work in supporting this product).
Been with this since the start as well, and sticking in until the glorious end.
This is just a lull while we wait for the kernel. It shall come - and we shall rise once more.

Re: [FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion -- NOW WITH UNROOTED

I have a question I porches this app from the market, sense it got removed is there any way I can download or the developer can send me a updated copy of it?
