[FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion

Update in the market brings 1280x720 and more stability.

720p looks awesome!

I am noticing some screen clipping like in previous versions of the app (only with 720p)

Other than that, speed and colors on 720p look more "native".

Nice work.

They will obviously tweak it for 1080p out. Can't wait! LoL

1080 out will be amazing!!! Now thats mirroring at its finest!

So, if you have a 3D movie playing on the Evo 3D, will it mirror the 3d effects to the 3dtv? Would be nice. Im pretty sure it could, just wondering.

PLEASE, RESPOND TO THIS IF YOU CAN SO PEOPLE CAN DETERMINE WHICH IS PERFECT FOR THEM.

For FullHDMI of course, which is the Netarchy 4.3.4 kernal of choice, pros, cons and why? Thanks everyone, this will help me out a ton too!!!

What kernel can I use for this to work? I'm using CM7 RC2

I am using CM7 RC2 with no issues except I had to hit the start button twice to get it going at first. No special kernel.
What is yours doing and saying?

I'm using netarchy-toastmod-4.3.4-cfs-havs-less-nosbc

BUT I'm running MikFroyo 4.4 ROM (sense based), not sure if that makes a difference.

Running fine here.

An error comes up when I try after I plug the cable into the TV and start it up.

I'm using the netarchy-toastmod-4.3.4-cfs-havs-less-sbc and for some reason this one has worked the best for me. I have tried 3 other of the new kernels but this one seems to have an overall better affect on my entire evo's performance. I notice my device running alot smoother. It's working great with FullHDMI. I think it's a great combo

Check [Kernel]netarchy-toastmod, Stable: 4.3.1 Beta: 4.3.4 thread for a general description of the different kernel types and links to more detailed information.

Having flashed almost every sense kernel released I can say that 4.3.4-cfs-havs-more is what was used in the benchmarks and in my testing. I personally am using the SBC version with no issues however cannot recommend it as your first kernel.

One of the things that has come up time and again is that everybody's phone is different. Your phone may be fine with a havs-more kernel where as a friends phone may have issues and have to use a havs-less to function properly. It's more akin to vanilla vs chocolate. You have to find out which one your phone likes.

For some reason if you use slingbox these accelerated kernels breaks the apps ability to stream over 3g. This is very frustrating to say the least. Spent the last 3 hours trying to reinstall
the original hdmi ubuntu accelerated kernel (only one hat worked ) and had to do a fresh ROM install. The nand backup of that and other nandroid backups still held the radio dropping out as soon as it went to log in. I did dalvick wipe even a factory wipe to get things rolling. I even did PLR and profile updates in all the sence ROMS. I believe the radios from the netarchy are a candidate for my plite. I read that people were having problems with the 1.90 pri I did not
try using the pri 1.70. I hope some one can get what I'm saying it late I'm tierd and not the greatest at this sort of thing. Thank-you in advanced.

Have you tried first starting your Slingbox program, THEN starting FullHDMI? I noticed that for some reason, it "Slingbox" does not start when FullHDMI is running. Once started, go to FullHDMI then long press the home button to get your most recent apps, tap Slingbox and it should reconnect without issue.

If Slingbox does not start this way for you, reboot your phone (hot-restart will work) then start Slingbox and follow directions as above.

Ever since the last update I am not able to choose a custom resolution, the tv stays blank...and the only resolution that works from the drop down is the edtv one. I have the latest busy box and running no custom roms or kernells.

Thanks for the link Loki, but like you pointed out, Every phone is different, so that means if we get alot of positive feedback on a certain kernel, that means obviously that, THAT kernel is working best, ya know. I know the difference between the kernels, but don't know how they are running on different phones, roms. etc, etc. If we get this type of feedback in this forum, it would help out everyone for the mean time, like a forum should. ;)

Still no resolution on why Asphalt 5 won't work?

Even with Net's 4.3.4 and 1280x720?

I actually got Asphalt 5 to work using Net's 4.3.4 and any resolution. The Ashpalt 5 opening animation and video work through HDMI without FullHDMI started. After that the TV goes black, but the game continues to load on the phone. I waited till it was completely loaded and then held down the home button and selected and started FullHDMI hit the back button and it worked through HDMI. Hope this helps.

For me, I can't use the havs-less kernel. I only get about 14hrs of standby. On the havs-more I only drop about 10% every 8hrs. I've also go in and tune the kernel and governor using what I've learned over the years from Linux server builds. My phone also has a fairly low voltage floor, around 825mv, so dropping the vMin to 850mv (to be safe) is part of it. Seeing that I've almost 100hrs of testing just on FullHDMI alone my suggestion would be to try the CFS-havs-more kernel to start.
