G3 Battery Life experience. Whats yours?

Re: 2 concerns on LG G3: radio strength and battery life

Can people please stop talking about how many bars the have our don't have? That's not any type of valid measurement of the signal strength

Thats fine. I'll rephrase. I actually was able to make and receive calls and 4G data in a spot in my home where my Galaxy S III was usually a paper weight.

I'm guessing If I leave my Note 3 for this phone, i'm going to be disappointed in battery life no matter what when compared to the Note 3

Possibly, I'd wait for the Note 4 of I were you. Decide which is better for you at that point.

Samsung Galaxy S5 (Verizon)

I'm looking for 20hrs standby, with about 4 screen on. I only do little gaming, most browsing and social media. If I can get that, I'm good.

U can get that. Close, but doable.

I'm impressed thus far. Today is only my first full day, but I'm at 75% with 1 hour and 48 minutes of on screen time. Heavy usage so far.

I also have one more bar of LTE in my house where I usually sit, but I am usually on WIFI in my home and the G3 is doing well there too. I know it is anecdotal and I need some more time with the G3 to get a better feel for the signal but having a Nexus 5 which I consider pretty bad, it is not too high a bar to top...not sure if it is better than my Moto X or not. My first day on the battery was impressive too, but again I need more time which I will get next week at work etc. I keep the screen on 50% which is what I usually set all of my devices at.

I have seen multiple threads about flashing older radio versions back onto an updated N5 because the quality has degraded somewhat.

Fair standards there. Consistency and maintaining lock is as important as any bars or numbers. DBm is a fail if the link stutters.

Some people get as little as four hours or less on their Note 3 especially if gaming. But yeah you will never break six hours with a G3 under pretty much any fair comparison. I am holding out for a Flex 2 with similar battery life to the first gen, this thing can go over ten hours browsing and easily over fifteen hours in video or reading. It's like an old iPod.

5hrs is great for over 95% of all phones on the market. Either small batteries or hungry hardware, if you hit five hours of real use that is wonderful.

The G3 can probably give you that but not with a strong marging of reserve power. Are you willing to consider an expanded battery later?

It will start to drop quick on you. Mine stays at 100% battery for like 30min of SOT

I'm getting great battery! I have background data shut off and battery saver mode is set to start at 50%. I unplugged my phone from the charger at 11 hours ago and I'm at 68%...
