G3 user..Who gonna pre-order Iphone 6?

I would never tell someone tot pick the i6 /+ over the G3 or any other high end Android flagship device.

Ive talked with colleagues and they asked for advice. They liked the i5/s and they needed a simple phone for basic task.. I'm always fair and say apple is simple and its a good OS, but its actually so hard to give advice about that, since most want a simple good working phone.

A simple phone would certainly not cost above €600...

So my advice in the future will be to let the iPhone go!

With this said, you guys can probably gues my awnser to the OP'S question.

I was an iPhone user since the 3 all the way up to the 5S, until a few months ago when I got my G3. IOS is a great operating system and very easy to use, I sometimes miss it's simplicity.

I mainly upgraded as I wanted a bigger screen and was bored of waiting for Apple. Now we have a big screen iPhone, so it's really just an operating system war now (and maybe price too).

In my opinion IOS Apps are better, more of them, released earlier most of the time and work better most of the time, most likely because the designers don't have to account for thousands of hardware variations. Its just a more polished experience.

BUT, the fact that the experience is quite restricted and you can't customise the interface is a downside for me. Saying that, I am tempted because of my bloody G3 signal issues on O2

Also the size might be an issue, the G3 is so compact considering it packs a 5.5 inch screen. Looks like the 6 plus is going to be Xperia Z2 / Z3 size, which I had as a work phone for a while and it's just too big unless you have giant hands!

If you want to have a simple overpriced phone that has a part of an apple as a logo then you can buy the iPhone 6 . With those money you can buy a much better phone ..

I really love my G3 though and was just thinking about canceling my preorder today.

Having said that. I will probably buy my Fiance' the 6 for Xmas. She loved android; for a while at least. However, her LG G2X was a love hate relationship. The stock rom wasn't very good. The rooted variants all had their quibbles. I think it was more the phone than the roms. She now has an iPhone5, and she absolutely loves it. Although, she does lament loosing Swype. She's always had a Mac Book, an iPod, and an iPad, so go figure. Hell, I use my iPad 2 more than both my Galaxy Note 8, and the Note 10.1 2014. It's fast and convenient.

But for me, I might take a long look at the Note 4. My S3 was a very good phone. Tough too. My Son in Law now has it. So, I'll probably get her the i6, and use her Upgrade next year to get another device. That is, unless I'm still in love with my G3! Well, that was all over the place.

I cancelled my preorder BUT still struggle over this as I've been wanting to "degoogle" my life just a bit. While the apps google provides (google now, google+, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc) are awesome/useful they are free because they can collect what they want about me online.
Most companies try to monitor/collect info on their customers but Google is over the top.
So, maybe if go back to Apple I'm at least getting away from Google Now and spreading the info about me across different companies.

So, now that iPhone has a large screen smartphone...very tempting even though it doesn't match up to my G3

Big Iphone come with the same size as G3 (5.5) but maybe taller and wider..I love my G3 a lot but Iphone 6 is very nice too..(I still keep my g3 just switch SIM card between phone)

No way. iPhone 6 and 6+ don't offer anything my S4 hasn't been having.

I checked out an iPhone recently and I gotta say the screen has considerably more brightness and contrast than my G3. Excellent display.

The price of that phone is ridiculous. For an iPhone 6 plus 128gb you have to pay a whopping $1030 after tax.

I just paid $550+tax for my G3 32gb version. A 128gb SD card can be had for around $20. So all in all its around $600.

What a HUGE difference.

And that's not even getting into features, and customization, removable battery etc.

Yes the IPhone screens have always been very good. I had a 5s briefly this year and I could leave brightness up higher than most android phones without much battery drain. It's hard to describe but the screen on the IPhone 6 almost looks like everything displayed is closer to the screen than on my G3 or any other Android I have used. I got my wife an IPhone 6 and it is a very slick device. She was coming from a Moto X and she loves it. I may pick one up for me also. I love android and all the customization and tweaking that can be done but IOS is very polished and refined right out of the box. I respect both OS's and the enjoy using both..

You hit the nail on the head there. I agree completely with everything you said. I'm looking into getting a 6 for myself, too. I love iOS and Android both. No hate or disrespect to either.

No way. Overpriced, isn't as powerful at the G3. The camera is nice I'm hearing. That's about it.
