Galaxy Note 3 - Case & Covers Thread

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

Just curious, what color do you have?

I got the red Neo Hybrid... and black bounce. The Neo Hybrid looks good... I can just tell it's going to get scratched up in the future.

I have been using mine for 2 weeks and so far it's still flawless.

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

Fyi, for those considering Caseology, I would wait for the revised version.

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

I have looked at this thread many times & never saw this. To comment .... I don't think that is so bad! There is a little bow & I would do the same as you & I would expect better! How much was the case? I have a few cases from my Note 2 that were crap, but for what I paid, that wasn't so bad! Most offered total refunds without return. As far as customer service, Caseology I think is one of the best!

Cheers, Jon

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

In case anyone is wondering, Cruzerlite also offers great options for the Note 3. In fact, my phone took a pretty good fall (at least 3 feet) while working out at the gym and neither the case nor phone suffered any damage.

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

It is not the worst by any means. My issue is that the case didn't even engage onto the phone. If the phone was dropped face first, it might not provide good protection. Obviously it is not a armor case, but most other cases provide better engagement. Customer service is great though, they sent me a replacement right away and when the replacement had problems they refunded me.
As for price, I bought the caseology slim fit tpu for $3.51 which isn't bad but it's the sale price. If you are comparing with promotions, Cruzerlite was giving away free cases earlier this week and spigen neo hybrid was $1 last month. Also it is not really slim, Cruzerlite is slimmer. Right now I am using the spigen slim armor which I got for $6.49,which is a lot more bulky but provides better protection.

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

Let me preface this by saying I typically dislike cases on my phones. I generally find them to be bulky and ugly. This doesn't stop me from looking at them, I just didn't expect to find one I'd like. Today I received the gray Spigen bounce case. The things about this case that really appealed to me are the color, size and material. It adds very minimal bulk to the phone and it feels nice in the hand. I especially like the way they designed the covers for the power button and volume rocker. I was pretty borderline on the plus signs on the back, but after using it for the day I've decided they improve grip and the look is growing on me. All this for just $11 on Amazon make this pretty tough to beat.

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

I've been rock'n the Spigen Bounce case on my GN3 for more then a week now and its great!
The light weight and some what ridge TPU case is soft to the feel and gives very little bulk to the phone. The case covers the power and volume buttons with the right amount of mush to the buttons. The case feels great in the hands that also gives it good grip with the unique plus+ design on the back which I've had compliments on. I bought this case through Spigen's ebay store for $9.99 with free shipping also registering the case on Spigen site they gave back 10% of the price....very nice!

Here are a couple of pictures of the grey Spigen Bounce case on my white GN3.....

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

I've been debating with myself over and over on what solution to go with, and maybe you guys can give some suggestions based on your own experience.

First of all, I'm a bit of a klutz. I drop stuff all the time. I absolutely need a protective case. Second, I usually have a lot of stuff in my pockets, so I would need some kind of clip or holster. Third, I'm tired of having a cover to flip over every time I use the phone, so no more diary-styled cases anymore--I'll just use gorilla glass to protect the screen.

My current options are:

Case + clip (applied by adhesive) - This option would do away with needing a separate unit for attaching the phone to my clothes (will clip on the lip of the pockets of my jeans or jacket. On the jeans, the phone will be on the outside, and on the jacket, the phone will be on the inside of the pocket). The only downside to this option is having a clip permanently attached to the case and I'll feel it whenever I use the phone, but it'll allow me to use any case I want.

Case + matching holster - These are sold are a complete system, and on paper it seems like a great idea, but the problem is, of the available systems out there, none of them have visual designs I truly like, and the holster is hard plastic, so when wearing it, your hand will brush/bump that hard plastic and it's not as pleasant as using a soft pouch-styled holster made of leather or nylon. Of the currently available systems, only the Seidio Surface have a decent visual design (the Dilex is too clumpy, while other systems have low ratings on Amazon), but the Surface doesn't have a white option, which is what I'm looking for (to match the white Note 3):

Case + soft pouch/holster - This is a good option, and the only downside is that there's an extra pouch/holster to deal with compared to the first option of just case + clip. But at the same time, it allows the phone and case to not have a permanently attached clip you'll feel every time you use the phone. It'll also allow me to pick any case I want to use, as long as it's not extremely bulky and won't fit the pouch/holster.

If I go with the case+clip or cast+soft pouch/holster option, I'll likely get one of these cases:

All of them look better to me than any of the case+holster complete systems. I do have one concern though. Just how much protection does a phone really need from a case? There are cases with thick rubber/silicon/D3O bumpers that absorb shock, while others just have a hard/semi-hard shell. How necessary is the shock-absorbing element? All the cases with the shock-absorbing elements look too chunky to me and not elegant enough, so I'd prefer to avoid them if they don't really protect the phone any better.

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

shock absorption is what actually protects your phone. without getting into boring physics, if you drop your phone, the case is what actually hits the ground. it then transmits a portion of that force to the phone. the more shock it absorbs, the less goes into your phone. to use an extreme example, if a case absorbs no shock whatsoever (like the adhesive skin cases), its the same as not using a case.

That's great to hear. I ordered the black one and tracking says it will be here tomorrow. Can't wait to try it for myself.

How crazy is that? If they're really handmade, then the prices are actually very cheap.

In that case (no pun intended), then I think it's going to be between the UAG and the Spigen Slim Armor/Neo Hybrid, since they have dual layer of shock absorption and hard shell, and have the best looking designs.

I am really looking forward to the UAG , if its ever released.

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

I swear I bought my very last case for my Note 3. I picked up the S-view case today and I really like it. The price was steep, but I like the functionality.

Scribbled on my Note 3.
