Galaxy S20 Launch = Complete FLOP !

Samsung put themselves in a tough position...

Last years S10, S10+ and S10 5G cost $999, $1099, $1299.

This years S20, S20+and S20 Ultra cost $999, $1299, $1399... They increased the + by $200!

The iPhone 11... And I’ll say that’s the fair comparison to the S20 and not the Pro... is $699!!

An iPhone 11 Pro is $999... same price as the S20 and you get the “Pro” camera setup.

The iPhone 11 Max Pro is $1099... $200 cheaper than the S20+ with no Pro camera setup.

They knew how much the iPhones go for and they purposely priced themselves over the iPhones. We’ll have to see how it plays out but I just don’t know if that is a good strategy. In advertising standpoint just seems like a mismatch. $200 increase over last years + and $200 over the Max Pro, they should have put a more convincing “Pro” camera setup on the + than to basically give the same setup as the base S20.

Seeing that $1400 price on the Ultra will make anyone cringe. Even if you are gonna be one of those people breaking an Ultra into monthly payments, seeing the monthly payments go from the $40 range break the $50 range may also make a person think twice... They are breaking so many of those psychological barriers when it comes to pricing.

And what happens going forward with the S21 if the S20 does disappoint? They set the precedent with the pricing they set right? They can’t drop the + back down $300 the next year can they??
I hope they dont keep the price high for the Note 20 and learn from the s20 , but I highly doubt it :(

Omg I had been thinking the same thing. I was really open to the Ultra if performs on all cylinders because I really don’t use the pen much. You lose the pen but you get more battery. But now I am more willing to wait for the Note 20 now but are we looking at at $1500 phone?

I like the s20 ultra , first time I seen it today at bestbuy , but I wont give up my note 10+ for it as I use the spen at work , but if Samsung insight program invites me , they have in the past its 50% off the ultra I'll do it . As for the Note 20 if my trade in will get me close to 650-750 range I'll bite on that , if not next year then.

You left out the S10+ ceramic 1TB model which if I recall without looking it up was somewhere between 1500 and 1600.

I can get a pretty decent discount too on it through my companies corporate account but I don’t want to abuse the backdoor I have ordering phones all the time so I have to make sure of the phone I pick now if I forego waiting later in year if the Note 20 ends up being better than expected or if their are other contenders. I’ve held off two years and preordered the 8 the moment orders were being taken. I definitely have a growing itch this year to upgrade but now I can wait for more reviews, wait to see what updates do and possibly wait long enough to see what the Note will bring.

Do you need a loan? I got you covered. You can just pay the vig for awhile if that helps.

Yeah I agree with you .

Yeah I left those out cause i didn’t feel like digging into how much they cost but could have made a decent point if i did because those phones are suppose to be specials... and the priced reflected you are paying above and beyond for something special over the regular models.. but the regular models are now in that special stratosphere pricing. Ugh.

The Note 10 wasn't a big difference from comparable S10 models if I recall correctly.
Well better placement of the fingerprint sensor, the camera in the middle top Instead of to right ,body design (I personally like ) but not major difference , yes the spen of course .

Edit: you talking price yeah not much I believe

The note 10 actually costed less than the S10+ and the Note 10+ was only 100 dollars more than the S10+. Was actually shocked at how similar pricing was especially considering it has twice the memory.

None of those iPhones have inflated for 5G yet. Let's talk again in September... 😬

In before someone says Samsung phones does this and does that over iPhones etc since they blindly hate anything Apple

Yeah it's crazy Samsung is starting their base flagship price at $999 and the iPhone 11 starts at $699. And yes there are major feature differences but normal people don't give a ****. They see the latest iPhone model starts at $699 and the latest Samsung model starts at $999. It's a tough sell and atleast in US they will say alright let me go with the iPhone 11.

Yeah...I recall something like that. The ceramic models with more RAM were higher but there's no direct comparison.
My fear is the Spen will add size to the Note or they might reduce battery size.
