Galaxy S20 Launch = Complete FLOP !

Not that we blindy hate iPhone, but the comparison with the 11 can't be directly made since the compromise is more than just the cameras. The S20 doesn't make a big compromise compared to the S20+ except for the 5G bands which are years away from being the standard. I do agree the S20 series should've been priced 100-200 less but I also feel that neither pro iPhone is a direct comparison to the Ultra just like the Note series is in a class of it's own. The pro is directly inline to the S20 and the pro max to the S20+ respectively.
In before someone says Samsung phones does this and does that over iPhones etc since they blindly hate anything Apple

Yeah it's crazy Samsung is starting their base flagship price at $999 and the iPhone 11 starts at $699. And yes there are major feature differences but normal people don't give a ****. They see the latest iPhone model starts at $699 and the latest Samsung model starts at $999. It's a tough sell and atleast in US they will say alright let me go with the iPhone 11.

None of those iPhones have inflated for 5G yet. Let's talk again in September...

That is 100% correct. Don't think for a second that Apple will sit back on their pricing when they up the specs to meet the Ultra's, plus 5G. People dont have to buy flagship phones - there are many options available for consumers that are less expensive. Every year technology gets better - and if you want the newest and best, you're going to pay for it.

Yes there has always been a battery size trade off... about 400-500 mah(?) to make room for the pen. I’m ok with that to get the pen. I may be in the minority but please Samsung do not make the Note any bigger than the Ultra to fit battery and pen.

Yeah...I recall something like that. The ceramic models with more RAM were higher but there's no direct comparison.
My fear is the Spen will add size to the Note or they might reduce battery size.

Samsung had the unfortunate task of playing their hand first.

I can't wait for the jaw dropping iPhone and Pixel announcements later this year.

And of course, the S20s will have all dropped 200 dollars by then.

What people are REALLY paying for is early adoption. People with the patience to wait don't have these issues.

Pixel 4 anyone??!

I want to disagree with you so bad, but it's very true I mean look at how much the apple watch has increased over the years.

Yeah I did mention that there is a feature difference. The point I'm making is the entry point price for the latest iPhone is $699 and enter point price for the latest Galaxy is $999. Majority normal people aren't going to be too worried about the extra feature difference and they will say I can get the latest iPhone for $699 over $999 compared to S20. There is a reason why the iPhone Xr and iPhone 11 are selling so well, it's because of the price. One can say oh well then S10 is cheaper, guess what that's not the latest phone and last year Xr is $599.

Definitely Samsung is missing the pricing here. I understand it's the useless crappy carriers that want to sell the 5G models and Samsung is tied because of higher costs if 5G chips and other things. But still they should have targeted some variant of S20 to start much closer to iPhone 11 price and have S20+ closer to $1000 and then go crazy with Ultra. Starting the S20 series at $1000 is a bad idea in the current situation where the latest entry point iPhone costs at $699.

Got that on Black Friday pix 4xl Friday deal 550.00 with tax , and yes your right can get discount later on or trade in as a early adapter

I feel that after the Note 7 fiasco they've gotten a lot more cautious to make sure they aren't trying to fit so much in a cramped space which leads to these bigger phones that some complain about. There's only so much that can be packed in a particular footprint.

LOL. Samsung is saving that price point for the S20 lite coming in November... 😂

For sure but that doesn't change the current scenario. There is many more months to go until then Samsung has to deal with worrying about entry level iPhone price at $699. And yes if Apple decides to put 5G even on the entry level model which most likely they will then probably there is a $200 increase to $899 for the entry level iPhone 12 or could be even $999. But if I have to take a guess it'll be $899 and they will have the max model priced up closer to $1500.

They do that every year with the S series. I think they honestly use this line to test the market before releasing their beasty phone in Q3. The Ultra is honestly what you would expect from the Note series minus the pen.

For the rest of the world yeah, I didn't see the S10 lite or the Note 10 lite released in the US. I guess as mentioned earlier may be Samsung is banking on the fact that most US consumers buy from carriers without knowing the full price. They just see what it costs monthly and may be they are thinking the monthly cost difference between a $700 or $1000 isn't that much to hurt their cause. Who knows what they are thinking

Yeah usually

Seriously, it's a mystery that Samsung didn't release a non 5G model with two back cameras and the 40mp selfie camera thrown for good measure, for $750. It's what the regular S20 should have been.

I'm thinking they must have read the tea leaves and realized 2020 was going to be a tough market and decided to hedge their bets and offer a larger return per unit sold.

Both galaxy s-series, and note series are basically identical in specs each year, besides s-pen and screen size being the main difference. Idk why note fans always feel the need to think that the note series is the best Samsung phone. I knw plenty of people who have galaxy phones - no one i knw has a note
There are some saying that the note series may even get discontinued.

Honestly what’s the point of the note series now? What specs could they possibly put in the Note 20 this year to differentiate it from the Ultra?

16k video? honestly they should just release the S and Note at the same time, the Ultra could have easily been branded as the Note Ultra.

Has Samsung released official numbers?

Like I said I'm only entertaining it because of the pre-order bonuses and trade-in credits but even then Samsung seems to be skimping or is it just in Canada.

When the S10 came out they included both but it was either or with the Note 10. I don't even know what it's like with the S20 because I'm here in Philippines.

Even when I got my iPhone 11 Pro Max. My carrier offered a great deal. Otherwise I wouldn't touch any of these phones.

I wouldn't surprised if it does flop. These prices are insane.

Price....I'll say it again and keep repeating it :-(

Here it's 1579 Euro for the 512gb Ultra, that's 1801.02 USD by todays exchange rate on xe.com
