Both galaxy, and note series are basically identical in specs each year, besides s-pen and screen size being the main difference. Idk why note fans always feel the need to think that the note series is the best Samsung phone. I knw plenty of people who have galaxy phones - no one i knw has a note
There are some saying that the note series may even get discontinued.

Well the S series people always seem to want to believe that the note series is based off the S series. If I remember right, the note was the one that pushed the envelope for screen size.. it worked, so now the S series has big screen offering now also.

Now days, they are just copies of each other with the note offering the S pen. Samsung would have been better to just launch the S ultra with a S pen and start the rollover process. They probably will eventually and replace the note launch time frame with the folds, their next pushing the envelope adventure that's in process.

Let's not forget all the different phones Samsung is releasing, fold, that Z folding one, the note light, the S light. All these will take away from the note and S releases. Specially if some are waiting for the lite version of the S20, if it comes out. I'm guessing the lite versions are doing good, half the cost. To most consumers that will be a selling point, they don't need or want what's missing. For me, no wireless charging means no sale.. Lol

Honestly what’s the point of the note series now? What specs could they possibly put in the Note 20 this year to differentiate it from the Ultra?

16k video? honestly they should just release the S and Note at the same time, the Ultra could have easily been branded as the Note Ultra.

Supposedly the note will have the upgraded figer print sensor and better screen that uses less power. Both features that should have been in the ultra. These companies make too many phones . Thats the real problem.

I am not sure how to judge a release as a flop. I know my local Best Buy said that had only a couple of pre-orders, but again when you trade-in a phone, say Pixel 4, you get the $600, but it is in a Best Buy gift card, not off the price. That makes buying one from Samsung online more enticing.

I am not unhappy with the Ultra, I am just not completely satisfied with my purchase. My personal dilemma is, is the Ultra worth the $685(out of pocket) that my final invoice says I paid for it? Of course, for that price it is difficult for me to return it. I came from Pixel 4XL and generally get at least a couple of new phones a year, depends on the releases of that year.

I say out of pocket, because while we trade-in a phone, we all paid for that traded phone at some point so that trade-in is not a net gain. In my case, I jumped on the Pixel 4 deal that T-Mobile had and paid $400 for the 4 and will receive $600 trade. I already own the XL which I will keep as a backup or future trade or Swappa it out.

Between trade, the 10% sorry you cancel your order discount, the $35 discount that was my final out of pocket. I have a few more days to return, it is the best $685 phone I have owned, camera aside. I say camera aside, because that is the biggest disappointment currently. I think the Pixel 4XL photos are better out of the box.

The reason why I did not preorder is price pure and simple in Canada after the exchange the ultra comes out to $1849 and that is before taxes, that is absolutely ridiculous especially being that I have an S10 plus, and the trade in value is not what it is in the U.S.

They charge the exchange rate but for the trade in they keep it in Canadian dollars so we get screwed there too

I'm glad it's a complete flop and I waited out . New deals are in the horizon like a true BOGO. A lousy Samsung credit to buy overpriced accessories wasn't enough to sway me. A quick look at swappa will show brand new phones going in for over $200 off MSRP.

The s pen is not the only difference they. Usually the Note series comes standard with more memory and ram. There are a couple other differences as well but won't get into it. Not everyone gets the note line and that's ok. The true note lovers appreciate Samsung still continuing the note line.

I kinda like my Note 9 with a headphone jack and rear fingerprint reader that still takes great pictures and offers all day battery life.

No need to waste so much money especially when they value my phone at only $300, LMAO.

That's what everyone says, but look how well it's turned out for Apple. Same with big screens. I give Samsubg credit for going against the grain and not allowing people to put them in one mold. May seem obsessive but they make phones for every budget.

If you're purchasing a carrier model you can use the giftcard towards the phone same day. They use it as a downpayment in store. Works out to be the same deal.

Well, right now we can say the S series is the more advanced phone over the note. When it's the next note releases then the note will be more advanced, and the cycle keeps going. The S pen is basically the only difference between the 2. This " one is more advanced then the other" idea needs to go to bed.

Agreed over the last couple of years the Note is just minor improvements in terms of specs mainly with RAM and storage. The decision is basically do you want S-Pen then wait for the Note if not then it doesn't really matter get either the S or Note.

Umm It's not a complete flop. This is why I had a problem with the OP posting this thread - without any statistics/facts to back up his claim, other than his local best buy low on s20 orders. Now everyone thinks north american sales are low - which they may well be - but the phone just launched, it is way too soon to tell right now.
