Galaxy S5 or HTC One (M8) - Which are you more likely to buy?

Re: Galaxy S5 or M8 - Which are you more likely to buy?

Or shockingly if space is an issue you can buy a 32gb S5.

Re: Galaxy S5 or M8 - Which are you more likely to buy?

You're saying I can get more space and not have to complain about half the 16gb being used?

Re: Galaxy S5 or M8 - Which are you more likely to buy?

I'm blessed, I'll probably have both to go with my N5
Nothing wrong with that :) Let us know how the S5 and M8 compare to the N5 when you get your hands on the devices.

Re: Galaxy S5 or M8 - Which are you more likely to buy?

Given those two choices I'd be more likely to choose the M8.

What about outside those choices? Anything you see worth getting over these two devices?

Re: Galaxy S5 or M8 - Which are you more likely to buy?

Well being that the Samsung S5 is the same piece of 5h1t as the S4, I can't really see anyone with any true knowledge of smartphones choosing it over the M8. That being said, they'll still sell millions to unintelligent buyers on the shoulders of Samsung's marketing budget.

Actually I think they will sell lots because they fixed many of the things people complained about with the s4 and also made it water resistant. Plus for those who like removable batteries and SD cards, that appeals to them. Not everyone is unintelligent because they buy a phone you Dont like. And to the OP, I'd pass over both of these and go with the g3 most likely because it will be better than the s5/one once again

There are lots of sites saying that s4 does come with half available storage Samsung Galaxy S5 Is Another ROM Hog, Uses Nearly 8GB Of Internal Storage

Re: Galaxy S5 or M8 - Which are you more likely to buy?

It's not really an opinion that the device is made out of slimy plastic while competing devices like the HTC One & iPhone are made out of aluminum and glass. It's also not an opinion that the OS takes up more than 8 GB of storage. It's also not opinion that Samsung services such as S-Voice are complete bloatware that are far inferior to built in services like Google Now. In fact, I didn't state any opinion at all. I called it a POS and backed it up with facts.

Actually it is an opinion. AndroidSPIN | For the record: the Samsung Galaxy S5 actually has 10.7GB free on the 16GB Version
Dont take everything so personally. The s5 back also isn't "slimy" like the s3/4. Your entire argument is opinion. You put no facts, just how you "feel"

I think the G3 will be a fantastic device. Something I'll take a long look at later in the year if I decide to use the upgrade.

Can you put apps on the SD card on the S5?

I think it'll be great too. Eagerly waiting to see it.

Have you had a chance to use the G2? I got to a few weeks ago at Sprint and think it's a fantastic device. At first I thought the placement of hardware on the back was a bit odd and couldn't see myself using it - that has since changed.

Re: Galaxy S5 or M8 - Which are you more likely to buy?

I honestly would over to get the HTC M8 over the GS5 if it wasnt for the lack of SD card and removable battery
I do think HTC phones look much more sleek than the Galaxy phones, and yes with me being a music head, the "boom sound" and external speakers are something I would love
The GS5 did impress me with being water resistant though...that is a BIG PLUS for me

Spec wise, I honestly think we wont see much difference between the M8 and the GS5, but we will have to see when it is announced

My current choice so far is the Galaxy S5

Re: Galaxy S5 or M8 - Which are you more likely to buy?

I wonder if Samsung has any data about how many people actually put apps on their SD card.

I bet the numbers are in the low 1 percentiles. As long as you can store pictures and audio, I think nobody is going to care that much.

Yes, I bought my daughter the G2 just after Christmas. She was coming from an S3.

Honestly I like most everything about the phone. The large display, nearly half an inch larger than my One but the phones are very close in overall size. The UI is very usable without that bulk feeling. Like your said the back buttons are easy to get accustom to. Add the stellar battery can't be overlooked

The things keeping me with my One are the front speaker's, camera functions and build material. That and to me the One has the best display in a phone

l agree 100%. I love HTCs design, but I must have a microsd slot, removable battery and H2O resistance. The S5 looks like it'll be the best of the bunch with those features.
