The update is out in my country (belgium) but it's out on another carrier, if i update.. does the update from that carrier work with my s7 ?
It's not samsung, samsung deployed the update it's carriers that are doing everything wrong
Unfortunately not. Unless the update is out for unlocked mobiles and your device is also unlocked. I had this issue where my device was running a Vodafone variant of firmware but the device was not carrier locked.
In this case it is possible to change the firmware variant.
Happy to help. You could also check the available CSC codes on your device to see if you can change it with an easier method to one that has the update available.
Download the phone info app from Play Store and check which CSC codes show as available under the CSC tab. If there are CSC codes there which have the update available there is a simple way to get on it.

I just tried a sim card from Nederland (KPN )in my Belgium s7 edge and it works fine so not locked .
So I figure it's Samsung screwing us over not the providers who haven't released the firmware.

I think phones in belgium arent locked with carriers, you just buy it in carrier shops and get a contract with them, does that mean it's concidered like a unlocked version?
Ok i have to wait for the unlocked version then? But why does proximus got it? They're phones are unlocked too..atleast that's what i know when i had the s6 with Proximus it was also an unlocked version with a 2year contract

Does your CSC match up with the unlocked variant? Sometimes unlocked devices run carrier variants even though they are unlocked. The update availability depends on your current firmware variant NOT the devices carrier locked status
I've talked to samsung via Twitter 2days ago, they said it's a matter of weeks...
From now on I am not going to manually check for updates every morning and evening....just going to wait till it auto updates. I have decided I have better things to do, like deciding on which manufacturer will get my business as I really won't be buying another Samsung phone .
I think we can't really do anything about updates on all Android phones (exept nexus,pixel) so i think you have 2 choices, or buy another android phone and wait for updates like samsung or go to the dark side and buy a iphone lol...

I tried Apple iPhone 7 plus ,and I hated it .sold it after a month .
I really like my s7edge and Android in general so like you say .....looks like we have to just wait .
