Galaxy S8 / S8 + Battery Life Thread

So took my S8+ off the charger this morning. It's 12:30 am and I have 15 % left. Did about 2 hours with GPS navigation, 2 hours of streaming podcasts, 1.5 hours of spotify on LTE, web browsing etc. I did have it on FHD and mid battery optimization. Didn't have it charging all day, even in the car. I'm impressed.

Might try HAD and intermittent charging like I usually do in the car so I can see where I'm at.

With today being my full first day, I'm curious to see how this battery holds up and if it makes it through the day for my. My iPhone 7 plus does fine to make it through the day.

Very happy with this battery thus far all the android publishers were so critical of the battery life with this display and i will say this coming from the S7 Edge which has a slightly bigger battery then the S8+ the battery performance is better with a smaller battery. 50% with 3hrs of SOT couldn't do that with the S7E.

You may also try rooting it. This I heard may help.

Picture says it all. You have bad signal. On a good day I got over 7-8 hours SOT, I had good signal. 5-6 hours whenever I get bad signal and not on Wi-Fi.

Most of the day I had a strong lte signal and the only places I did not (brother's house and my apartment) I am connected to wifi

Max power saving mode would be the best of both worlds.

Here's my current battery performance, still at 34%.

I'll say I haven't been on it a whole lot today but I was last night and this morning.

I have an s7 edge. I never covered the screen since these curved screen are impossible to get a quality protector. It did fine.

I used a spigen neoflex. If you can get it on without dust, it's pretty good.

Feels like a grippy rubber though.

Pushed my S8 last night all the way down to 14 percent and got over 6 hrs. The 835 is impressive.

I had a fairly light day with my S8: About two hours of screen time, Android Auto, Samsung Pay, email, Facebook, etc. Still to be at 63% after 12 hours is pretty amazing. I hope it lasts this way!

Day 2 of having my S8+ (Verizon). Wow, just wow. I really pushed it this time; with QHD+, sync on, using GPS, heavy YouTube and video streaming, Facebook chat, web browsing, and some phone calls, with around 25-30% brightness most of the time (the screen is bright enough that it doesn't need to be set any brighter than that, at least for me), I got over 9 HOURS of SOT! Probably could have pushed it to 9.5 hours or more, but I decided that enough is enough. How impressive is that? See for yourselves!



How did Samsung do this? I'm thoroughly impressed; this is the best battery life of all the phones I've had!

I have the zagg glass. It's horrible on rhe s8. Returning it tomorrow.

I had the Zagg curved glass screen protector on my S8+. It was horrible on my phone as well because it didn't adhere to the edge display, even though the mold to install the screen protector makes it foolproof to install it. I took it off today and installed a Yootech screen protector instead.
