I've had the Pixel XL since 10/19. Generally speaking I like the phone. Just a few issues that I can't justify paying almost $900 and keeping it.

I had the Nexus 6 and loved it. Since then I've had the LG G4, LG V10, Lg G5 and S7 Edge. With the Nexus 6 being my favorite of those.

GPS dropping signal while driving, Project Fi wasn't going to work for me as I intended, issue with google now. Kept thinking I was saying "Ok Google" while I was listening to music through headphones or through the radio. So it kept saying "If you just said something I didn't catch it." I also don't like the headphone jack on the opposite end of the charging slot.

I tried a couple of factory resets to no avail. Including resetting the phone and not backing up from google account in case that may have been the issue.

There are a few other issues that are enough to send it back. I'll edit as I recall what they were.

I will say that one thing I didn't like about LG that may still be an issue is when you're on a call you get that floating icon that you can't remove from the screen. It always seemed to be in the way when I was on a call and trying to do something on screen.

You gave the Pixel a shot and it didn't work out for you, this is how it should be handled. Good luck with the V20.

Agree with Red-Oak.. Get what works for you and rock it regardless of what it is..

Glad you tried it! Hope the V20 has everything you're looking for :).

I am looking forward to my 128GB Black Pixel XL. Good luck to you on the V20, I hope it is the phone you are looking for :)

Thanks Red-Oak.

You know...It kills me when people review phones and their list of dislikes are things that the phone never promised. Such as waterproofing, expandable storage, lack of headphones in the box etc. Or when they've never even held the phone. If this phone were closer to $700 then I may not have been sending it back. Google Support was very helpful. No restocking fee, they're sending me a return label with a box to return the phone.

By no means am I bashing this phone. I have great things to say about it. Just a few gripes which I mentioned above.

I hope the Pixel is exactly what everyone else had hoped it would be. Great phone, just not for me. Damnit...I like the lack of bloatware and total Google integration with so many features of the phone.

However, I will have about 4 days of overlap before I have to send the Pixel XL back to google. So who knows what will happen. Haha.

I agree with the idea, but based on the op's examples it sounds like a defective pixel rather than normal behavior.

I have been using the v20 for a week now,and it has been a rock star so far! Ive had one thing start to happen in last 2 days, battery meter only goes to 98 percent and says its fully charged, not sure whats going on there?

We've has 4 returned V20s in 2 days for bootlooping. Hopefully, This isn't a serious issue...
This is such a lie.....no where else can you find reports on this and it's almost impossible to have the bootloop issue on nougat....

But seems like the pixel xl may have its on reboot and freeze issue based on Reddit posts .......

Pixel xl 128gb freeze twice daily into reboot

Happens randomly twice everyday. I can be in the camera app, still can view what I'm about to take a picture of the phone will reboot after about 1 min or until I hold power button.

Has happened in whatsapp, chrome, Google maps, camera, home screen.

Storage is at 98gb free. Wonder if any app to view error logs? Maybe a rogue app

LOL... you say "this is such a lie" because you can't find any other reports on this... do you know how to use Google Search?

If not I'll tell you: Open up your favorite browser, and type "www.google.com" in the address bar, then in that search box in the middle of the google's page type "lg v20 bootloop" and hit enter.

I returned my pixel xl this evening. Really hated to but couldn't get it to connect to my office wifi and I exhausted all efforts. The radio was a little weak but bearable. Aside from that everything else was awesome. The software, screen, speaker, build was excellent. Going to miss it. I went to the dark side for the first time ever.

The biggest issue with the V20 appears to be the delicate camera lense. Shattered lense reports are growing fast.

My pixel will be here Monday. Can't wait to see if it's worth the moola we all paid. My favorite phone of all time(up to now), is the S7 edge. Fast, perfect size, looks, build quality, that incredible screen, an all day battery, and micro SD card expansion. Hope my pixel can deliver some of the things the S7 edge has to offer. No matter what the Pixel does for me, I'll keep my S7 edge for media. . Just not enough room on the pixel. By the way, I did have a V10. It was ok. But several things I didn't like was that aweful screen, poor battery (even though you could swap it out), and its shear bulk made it horribly uncomfortable to use and just to carry. My opinion only.

May ask why are you switching from the Samsung Galaxy Edge 7 if it did everything you wanted it to do?
