There's still hope for getting it this week. There's some people that got approved days after me that already have it or are getting it tomorrow.

Samsung is a joke, as far as this is concerned. I was just on hold... Again... For over an hour, and their system disconnected me again.

Have you tried firing off an email in the meantime? They say 24-48 response time to them?
As a contingency anyway...

No. Didn't know I could. Do you have an email address for them? I tried to do chat but they said it was down due to too much volume

I may have spoken too soon. I looked at a contact page I used for some questions and they seem to have it as after an order number is established.

Maybe? Idk. Phone might be best after all.

I took the advice that I had seen on here and registered for the gear VR through the shop Samsung app. It was so much easier then any other promotion I've applied for, for any company. I was approved the same day I think, 4/20. Got my notification a couple hours ago that it had shipped and is arriving Saturday. I'm in shock that it's moved so quickly lol.

Just got my email and FedEx tracking info for my Gear VR.
Looks like delivery Thursday also.

I was on hold for 2.5 hours. When someone finally answered, he told me the promotions dept closed at 9 EST. I started my call at 848 EST, so 12 minutes after I called they closed and I wasted an addtl 2 hours and 38 minutes. Such bull****.

Just spent 3+ hours on the phone. Finally got through to a supervisor named RJ. He said that he was unable to give me any information yet, and tried to get me to accept that I had to wait 6-8 weeks and that they were going to shipped out in batches according to IMEI number. They couldn't or wouldn't confirm what batch my bundle would be in. I kept pushing, and he finally said that if I hadn't received any tracking information after a week from my order confirmation that they could escalate my claim. I confirmed with him that since I ordered it on 4/20, that I expected information by 4/27. He said that was correct and that he would note that to my account. I will give it until 5 PM on 4/27 and then I won't get off of the phone until I have a tracking # in hand.

Just got the email with my tracking number for my Gear VR!!! And according to FedEx it's coming TODAY!!!!

Just spent another hour waiting for customer support. My claim had been rejected twice. Last time I spoke with them they said my documentation looked good (Verizon receipt and then contract agreement) and they would elevate to next tier and should expect an e-mail. When no e-mail after two days, I called again today. CS representative said e-mail was sent Monday. Checked e-mail and spam--no e-mail. He said he would request re-send and I gave him an alternative e-mail. I asked him what documentation I should send in response to the e-mail (if I ever get it) and he said the same as what I sent before. I told him that was ridiculous they already have it why can't they just correct their error. He had no response. I asked to speak to manager he said there were none available. I asked for e-mail address to file complaint and he gave me some bogus e-mail. This is the worst customer support I have ever dealt with and makes me question buying future Samsung products.

I'm worried because I took a snapshot of the receipt but it doesn't say anything about a preorder which was done on April 1st! I do have a reorder slip that was given to me when I did the preorder but not sure if I'll be able to use it if they don't accept the receipt. Right now, the status online is "under review".

That's bull****. They have that stupid phone system too, that routes you based on what you say. I tried saying promotions department, but then it asks what specific device. I say Samsung gear VR promotion, but it just says they are finding someone to help me with my gear VR. Bet you once somebody finally answers without me getting disconnected, it'll be someone trying to solve a technical issue with the VR, and will know nothing about the promotion. Does anyone have a direct number for the right department, or know what to say to the phone system to be properly routed?

What a crock of crap. So basically all this calling and on hold nonsense is for nothing. Samsung better get their act together and make this right. The free VR was a major factor in me getting the S8+. I like VR and already have the prior model, and wasn't in the mood to spend more money to get the new VR just to get me back to essentially where I was with my last phone. It isn't right for Samsung to take my money so easily, but not follow through with their end of the deal. My only consolation, is that the prior model VR works fine with the S8+, although it isn't a 100% perfect fit like it should be with the new version. So, at least I can still use VR, but they really should get us legitimately eligible customers our VR without being so ticky tack with our submissions, and then not helping us resolve the issue

Subsequent to being rejected, because the receipt did not show a pre-order had occurred, then submitting a nine-page PDF that contained every single email, scanned document and receipt from the transaction, my promotion status changed to 'accepted'.

Does anyone who has gotten a shipping number show two shipments in fedex delivery manager?

I see two separate tracking numbers listed for my house. Both coming from BrightPoint North America. I know one for sure is the VR and controller, any idea what the other one might be? Do we get that speaker dock that others may have gotten?

Placed my order on 4/21. Paid for the immersion package and my credit card was charged on the same day. Checked on the status of the order this morning and it's still preparing to ship. I dread the idea of calling Samsung to see what is going on though.
