hey yall i have the 1.1.0 version of syndicate installed with eco5. Ive been trying to track down the baked kernal 2.3 but with no luck. any suggestions? also since i could find that i tried installing the genocide kernal via a zip update and it says install was succesfull , but under system settings i still have the srf twilight kernal showing? is this normal?

Google "Baked Snack" to find that kernel.

Unless there was a build.prop included in the Genocide kernel zip, your "About phone" info will not change. So yes, it's normal.

as for the Genocide kernel, it will not show up in your system settings, so chances are you are running it. one way to be sure is to check the available frequency steps in the Voltage Control app or a cpu control app..... if you have the 1120, 1200, 1300, and 1400 steps, then you are running that kernel.

Another way to check what type/version of kernel you are running is to install SetCPU or Overclock widget and you can go to "Info" and it will usually tell you there the registered information for the kernel your using. It will say Genocide, Baked Snack, Twilight, etc..

I know for the new Genocide they don't recommend using SetCPU but the above was simply an example of how you can check.

Actually I think all the devs stopped changing the kernel listing in About Phone because it was causing conflicts. So that is why it doesn't say Genocide, Twilight, etc..

it turns out that setcpu actually seems to work fine with Genocide 1.0. under info it says something like 'teamviper@teamviper-VirtualBox'.

Yep that is the email address which they used to register the kernel probably under the GPL licensing and for support.

I know SetCPU does work and they even stated it does, but the dev was saying it wouldn't support use of it because it can cause conflicts with the design/setup of the kernel and its custom settings.
