So after three days of sudden over heating and then data and voice drop outs, I called VZW and asked for a new replacement. the replacement should be here today and now (of course) my GN doesn't seem to be dropping out again. Should I just keep it or take a chance on another GN? Has the overall consensus been that there are more issues with later GN's or less than the first batch.

I have the same issues.
I am getting more no signal indicators but still stays connected.
I think my speaker sounds a bit tin-y but it maybe was like that on my first one.
My first one the screen stopped responding.

I guess I'll keep the old one on hand for a few days to se how the new one behaves. Secondary to reception, I am always concerned with the on/off button and volume rockers as well as screen issues which my first one has no problems. Maybe I OCD a bit over those things but I just hate a bad power button

I am impressed that VZW agreed to send another one before you return the old one. I have been trying to get them to do this for a week and they are not willing to send another one until they receive the old one.
