Give some reasons to get the Nexus over the rezound?

....oh and updates... like ICS... rezound doesnt have that.
jellybean coming to nexus
future proof weighs big in my opinion.

Hope you didn't pay $$ for that info., go get a refund. My current flavor of the month, [2-21-12][ROM]ICS Sense Redefined-Always Brilliant![Sense 3.6][4.0.3] - xda-developers
(Although, I'm still happily on 4.02, until they fix NetflixHD in 4.0.3/4)

In light of that, care to explain how we get screwed out of updates. You'll get it before any non Nexus devices but our layover is almost negligible. I find it impossible to believe that Jellybean will elude us, upon release.

I'm so darn confused. I've read alot of threads and It's really hard to find which one is better. I am for the most part happy with my old incredible, yet gingerbread screwed it up a little IMO Froyo was great on that phone. I'm just looking to get a solid 4g phone with a bigger screen.

The difference is, you have to wait for a leak of some sort. And layover? You do realise that the rezound isn't officially getting ics for months, right? The gnex will have jellybean long before the rezound, that is if people still care about it that much after HTC makes a few more flagships.

If you don't want to root and flash custom ROMs, then skip the GNex. However, I wouldn't get the Rezound since it has been around for so long. Wait for the new devices HTC is coming out with. They will be previewed at the MWC starting on the 27th of February.

Agreed. The GNEX is a great DIY phone that really rewards you for the time you put into it. If you're looking for something that holds your hand and works the way you want it stock, either wait for MWC or get the Rezound or RAZR Maxx.

I'm gonna go with the rezound. I know new phones are coming out, but there will always be something better. It never ends. I guess I can't go wrong with the rezound for 99 bucks.

Yea. New phones are coming out. If one doesn't get a phone by next month...I might say wait it out. Benchmarks of the new dual core snapdragon krait ...sick. that and the tech its using should help make battery life better...

It might be worth waiting for the next wave of superphones IF one doesn't get a phone by March. At some point we start running into phones with better tech.

I think that is the right choice for you. Just don't plan on using it outdoors.

Own one HTC phone then you have owned them all. I dont like how evry HTC phone is exactly the same. Try something new. Keep it fresh.

How is that a bad thing, for non-Nexus devices? God forbid, I wait upwards of 2 weeks to get a "cleaned up" version to flash. I'm perfectly content w/ that. The first ICS ROM was ported over to us, a week and a half after we discovered unlock. Also, keep in mind, every update Google pushes the Nexii way is not needed for use on other phones. (i.e. recoded radios for example).

T And layover? You do realise that the rezound isn't officially getting ics for months, right?

What that has to do w/ my Rezound is beyond me. I'm running ICS already, so your point is lost on me.

Who cares if most devs. move on in the future. There will always be at least one dedicated dev. updating their ROM(s). Seriously, are you saying the big guns like Cyangenomad will not include Rezound support during our entire 2 year contract. HTC is throwing ICS on the Eris for crying out loud. So I think rooted phones have little need to worry about being stranded.

I'm not trying to argue in here, really. I really dig your phone, I'd own a GNex had they not released it prematurely. I just wanted to point out, your not quite as ICS exclusive as you clamor about, all the time. Thanks to Googles support of AOSP.

Fresh? The only thing fresh about the GNex is the OS. That Galaxy shell has been beaten over like a dead horse for 2+ years. So you aren't exactly
entering new design territory, as well.

This is exactly how I felt.. I had the rezound coming from an evo 3d and it felt the same with more bloatware.. I hate getting a new phone feeling like its old lol.. Camera was a nice upgrade though.. But on the other hand this is what some people like.. That familiar feeling which is why I think they generally make sense look the same even after big updates.. Just depends on how u feel about that.

Thanks for validating my point, nothing is fresh in the market, anymore. Every oem is kicking out clones these days.

If everyone is kicking out clones which I agree with the only way to keep it fresh is the software.. But every phone has their issues.

From the best android phone PERIOD. Galaxy Nexus.
