Google Assistant coming to Motorola phones?

Has anyone read that Motorola MM/Nougat devices will be getting Assistant?

Moto has been conspicuously absent in the few device lists I've seen this week about the rollout.

Assistant will be part of a Google Play Services update and will come to Moto phones without the manufacturer or carrier interference. I have not received it yet either. This is a phased rollout and may take some time.

I just received it. Hold the home button and either Google Now or Assistant will work. You will know you have it when Assistant is there.

Hi all, for those that have received the update do you mind sharing which Motorola you own,, and which country you are in.
Many thanks.

Moto G3 owner.

My US Verizon Droid Turbo 2 received Google Assistant sometime in the past week or so, though I was unable to tell when the Play Services update happened.

Unfortunately, I'm disappointed with its "OK Google" voice activation. While the original Moto Voice activation works (mostly reliably) with screen off and *not* on AC power, new "OK Google" activation still requires screen on or AC power. In other words, Google Assistant doesn't seem to utilize Motorola's unique low-power, always on voice recognition processor.

Even with screen on, OK Google activation is unreliable and slow. So, I'm unable to transition to Google Assistant full time, vs. Moto Voice, which is a disappointment.

Is anyone having a better experience with OK Google on their Moto devices?
