Google Nexus 6 on Verizon

Re: Verizon again missing from Nexus 6 page

So ran into a Moto rep today at the Verizon store who had just got the Nexus 6 as his demo phone to carry around yesterday.

Good news: He doesn't get demos unless its actually going to be released on Verizon.

Bad News: He also said he's hearing December/January release due to the Turbo. Verizon makes much higher profit margin on the Turbo and Droid phones in general.

Take this for what its worth.

Well we figured not November since the Google Play message earlier in the week excluded Verizon. Hopefully December rather than January... Seems silly that they would skip the holidays.

Re: Verizon again missing from Nexus 6 page

I'm going to set the record straight right now. The Nexus 6 being delayed has NOTHING to do with the turbo and Verizon pushing it. NOTHING. 90% of Verizon customers don't even know what a Nexus is, So the strategy doesn't make sense. Oh and lastly, there will be No bloatware either.

Question. Is Ebola involved in the delay?

This mean your starting to hear things?

Yes. Verizon won't be launching it the same time as other carriers, but it will launch by Xmas. That I do know.

I think this idea might be different in the near future. My Mom whom knows nothing about Android(to her a phone is a phone) came to me asking to see the Nexus 6 because she heard others talking about it. Was I shocked.....

Good enough for me I suppose. Being late to the party sucks but there's not much you can do about it. Maybe they will release it 12-19 like the gnex. Maybe that's Verizons nexus day

In the mean time, there shouldn't be any problems using a Play Store model with a Verizon SIM before Verizon "officially" starts selling the phone, correct?

Re: Verizon again missing from Nexus 6 page

Awesome Joe. Now I can start hoping for early December. Seems like the Galaxy Nexus was Dec 5th, is that right?

Anyway, feel like a child at Christmas, but it is just a few short weeks . . .

Maybe it was rumoured for the 5th but I thought it was the 19th

Correct, it will work right out of the box. If you don't have a sim, you can have Verizon provide a free one. If you want to have one ready, you HAVE to get through customer service, Because at the stores, we have to activate them there per policy.

So in other words, you can't really "have one ready" in advance, because it has to be activated in store?

I'm basically going to try cutting my current SIM, but yeah, if I screw it up, I'll have to go to a store. I imagine, though, the primary account holder has to be there as well, correct? That's the only problem I have, because I'm not the primary account holder, it's a family plan, and I'd have to work around the schedule of the person that is the main account holder.

Re: Verizon again missing from Nexus 6 page

Im just gonna swap my already activated sim card in my Droid Maxx with my Nexus once it gets here.

I called Verizon customer service, and they are sending me a nano sim no charge and free shipping.
Told them I needed one for a (2014) X

You don't have to go to a store. You can order one from Verizon. But if you go to a store you'd have to have the phone.

Re: AT&T / Verizon compatibility Question??

I buy and sell phones all the time. As long as I have the proper SIM size I never need to visit a verizon store. Pop the SIM out of my old phone and into my new one and away I go. Don't even need to log on online to register the IMEI or anything it just works the same way as on AT&T

Thanks again! I did not know verizon's voice allowed for a simple sim swap like at&t. I knew the data was sim based but now voice?...good news.
Over the years SIM cards and ease of going from ph to ph was the reason I stuck with at&t. Even way back when they were improving the network it was well worth it.

Re: Verizon again missing from Nexus 6 page

Interesting...question? Would anyone know if a HTC One M8 sim card fit in the N6?
