Google Nexus 6 on Verizon

Re: Verizon's lack of Nexus 6 news

I have heard the N6 for Verizon will be out or announced on Dec 13th.
The rumored Droid device noted above won't be out until the middle of next year.

Re: Verizon's lack of Nexus 6 news

But it makes sense. Why push the N6 when they will have their own phablet on the same chassis, screen and better hardware. Maybe even a better screen.
I know it's just a rumor but Verizon isn't saying anything and why not speculate.

Even the articles that were written all say they are speculations on the December 13th date.

Re: Verizon's lack of Nexus 6 news

I find the 13th hard to believe there hasn't been any tangible vzw leaks recently

Re: Verizon's lack of Nexus 6 news

Two things...

1. Never trust a rumor until there is legitimate proof of the item's physical existence.

2. If you keep waiting for the next big thing (no pun intended), you'll never buy a device. :)

Note: Yes, I understand that number two can be argued in this situation since there hasn't been an official Nexus 6 launch on Verizon yet. What I'm saying is that assuming the initial promises do come to fruition and Verizon does launch the Nexus 6, skipping it solely on the rumor of a device with slightly beefed specs that could take close to anothe year to be released just isn't wise.

I've asked before but no one really had an answer so I'll try again. I have a Nexus 6 from moto but will I get the advance calling 1.0 update that allows volte so I don't lose data on a call? My concern is GPS and Moto direct once won't. Is it even possible for veizon to install it on our phones?

no it won't make a difference if you get it direct or you get it from verizon. The phone is the same throught all the carriers and the only difference is in the ringtones and boot animation. you'll be fine

Re: Verizon's lack of Nexus 6 news

You haven't heard anything from Verizon about the Nexus 6 because, historically, Verizon doesn't hype devices well in advance of their release. The device is coming to VZW. They'll announce their plans when they're sure they can meet the launch date.

Re: Verizon's lack of Nexus 6 news

Even if the rumor turns out to be true, which I doubt, it's still not worth the price you pay for being on Verizon.

This I have been mulling over in my mind a lot. I was on Centennial later bought by Verizon. Then AT&T for about 10 years. On December 23rd I will have been on Verizon for 2 years. At&t is so over loaded with users here they are almost worthless. Any public event (football game concert) you go to At&t is useless. For 1 whole football season I had no voice or data while my sister with Verizon had everything. Now I do give up distance covered in the Gulf of Mexico with Verizon but my job has changed and I don't work offshore enough to gripe about that. My first thought with the Nexus 6 was just go to TMobile. I have been warned they are worse than At&t. Then I thought about Sprint and they are basically non existent here. So my choices are At&t which isn't on true LTE here or stick with Verizon. The choice is pretty simple since 90% of the time my office phones are forwarded to my cell.

This. Verizon won't pull a Google Play Store ordering fiasco. When they have the stock and can give an availability date then you will see it offered.

Say what you will about Verizon, but they know how to run a business.

Re: Verizon's lack of Nexus 6 news

They want to push sales of their flagship, Droid Turbo. That is a very nice device but I got a lemon and am happy with the N6 so far.

If you can afford it, cut out the middle man and get it direct from Google or Motorola.

Still can't use the nexus 6 on VZW

Everything you read about the Nexus 6 on VZW is that you need to have an already activated nano sim to put in the n6. However i have tried putting an active nano sim in my nexus 6 from two different vzw phones and it flat out isn't working.

I purchased by 6 from moto so this should be unlocked.. the only thing i can think that might be the issue is that the sims i tried were from iphones.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Re: Still can't use the nexus 6 on VZW

I swapped the sim from my 2013 Moto X with no issue whatsoever

Re: Still can't use the nexus 6 on VZW

Used the Nano SIM from my iPhone 6. Removed it from the iPhone put into the nexus and no issues.

Re: Still can't use the nexus 6 on VZW

All I had to do was put in my brand new nano sim, call support and have them activate the sim. The imei won't be in their system so have them put in a request for it to be added but it won't affect anything in the interim. I've been using mine 2 days so far using this method with no setbacks. Good luck.
