I used the SIM out of my IPhone 6 plus. No issues. Did take a few minutes to activate though. Have the T Mobile version of the Nexus 6.

If you are having trouble and you have an active sim try doing a factory data reset, if you have an at&t or t-mobile that was previously activated that may be the problem

Any chance they would blacklist the imei
? I ask because I tried just taking the phone to vzw and asking them for a Nano sim. They then had a huge issue with getting me one as the tech even called vzw customer service to try and get it activated.

I did chat supposed told them I bought the moto x from a friend and they sent me a nano sim no questions asked. The tech on the phone was cool about just activating the sim and said the only thing I had to worry about was the device showing as unknown until they get it added to the system.

T-Mobile N6 running perfectly on Verizon here. I simply popped in the SIM out of my 2014 Moto X, powered up the N6, and was registered on VZW with no problem.

So my Nexus is out for delivery today!! I have a nano sim from Verizon that hasn't been activated yet. What should I be prepared for when I put the sim in the phone?

Call or chat with support. Ask them to activate your sim only and to add your phone's IMEI number to their system. Mine has been working perfectly fine since Tuesday, it just shows up as non vzw device in My Verizon.

No. No IMEI needs to be added, nothing like that. I'm currently using a Verizon SIM in an AT&T model.

Verizon will not activate a SIM unless you have one of their phones to go with it. Do you have a Verizon phone? If so, ask them to activate that phone on your nano SIM. In fact, didn't you have to select a phone when you ordered the SIM from Verizon?

I actually tried that earlier this week. I have a Razr Maxx HD and they couldn't/wouldn't activate it because it was "incompatible."

This worked. Reset the device and popped in a vzw sim.. worked immediately.. Heres something i noticed.. The phone cellular is currently in Global Mode, when i wasnt able to use the vzw sim it was in lte mode.. However i didnt see a way to go back to global mode from lte mode.. Hope this helps people who run into this issue

I have a Note4, so I don't have a nano sim. If I order a N6 through the play store can I go into a Verizon and just ask for a nano sim? How does it work?

You can order a Sim cutter on amazon for like 5 bucks. Makes life easy and it's pretty fool proof. Verizon won't give you a new Sim unless you're lucky.

I've heard once they are activated on at&t or t-mobile it won't allow activation on vzw. I read in another forum that the factory data reset works. Glad to hear it did!

Call Verizon and tell them you are buying a moto x off contract or off a friend and ask them to send you a nano sim to use on your new phone. They will send you a fedexed nano sim. All you then have to do is go online and switch out your phones. It will ask you to insert the nano sim in your new phone during the setup and boom, you are activated.
I was up front and told the rep I got a nexus 6 and the moto x second gen nano sim fits it. I still got it sent to me and I activated with no problems.

It's hit and miss based on who you speak with at VZW. They told me unless they had the IMEI in their system, they would not activate it.

This is false. I'm a Verizon customer with an at&t N6. I had the N6 activated under my at&t account. Put in my Verizon SIM and had no issues. No reset needed, no calls to Verizon, no waving of a magic wand.

I've repeated this at least a dozen times in this forum. There is so much misinformation about this it's ridiculous.
