Bought mine from Motorola with their no interest financing...stuck in my vzw sim and am loving it.
Waiting for them might take too long.

It's not hit or miss. No need to call Verizon, no need to have the IMEI "added" to their system.
An activated Verizon SIM will work in a Nexus 6. Period.

Hey all. I've scoured google but cannot find what I'm looking for. I have been eligible for an upgrade on verizon since January and really need a phone. My Galaxy S4 is dying a slow death. I really want the Nexus but there's no way I can afford to buy one outright. Is Verizon getting a Nexus or was it just a rumor? I've been going back and forth between the Nexus and Note 4 and Verizon has a pretty good deal on the Note but I wanted to know for sure what was going on with the Nexus. If they are going to carry it but will not release it for some time I don't think I can wait. Anyone hear any chatter? Thanks for the help.
What other 4G phones do you have besides the N6? The trick is to activate that new sim with a VZW supported device and then swap it back to your N6.
Do you have any friends that have a VZW Moto X or Iphone 6 that you could borrow for a few minutes.
You could also try using a sim adapter, if your old phone only supports a microsim, but you want to make sure to avoid damaging your old phone and some cheap adapters don't always work well.
If you want a truely unlocked phone then wait for the N6 and get it through Google Play. I wouldn't be surprised if Verizon locks down their version of the N6, that sort of thing is built into Verizon's DNA. When I got the N5 last year I switched to AT&T. AT&Ts coverage isn't quite as good as Verizon's in rural areas but it's comparable in populated areas. AT&T offers a $15/month discount if you brig your own device.
Look at the Moto Droid, it's almost pure Android. If I were willing to tie myself to a Verizon contract (which I'm not after the Galaxy Nexus fiasco) then the Droid would be a very attractive choice. It has a 5.2" QHD screen, a huge battery and, a higher resolutaion camera than the N6 and the same CPU. It's the phone that the Nexus 6 should have been. The downside is that it's updates are going to be filtered though Verizon, if that doens't bother you then it's the best choice right now.
I had no idea didn't see any blog posts Oh well I guess we're last, I hope it works nice once we get itU.S. Cellular released the phone. I hope we get the 64 Gb nexus 6 cw like they did. I can feel the date ever so close now
