It comes with 5.1 out of the box. Only Verizon apps installed are My Verizon and Visual Voice mail.<br/>

I have zero Verizon bloatware on my device. Not even a single app that says "Verizon". Just the logo on the back.

Is there a Verizon splash screen when you boot up?

There is a folder on the home screen with 2 Verizon apps in it.

No there is not. Nothing other than the Verizon branding on the back of the phone.

wow, so far I'm pretty impressed that VZ didn't mess with it as much as I thought they would .... plus (per that reddit article) the stamp comes off pretty easily

I also have no VZ software on my nexus 6.
You did not look hard enough. No big deal but it is there

Awesome to know! This made my choice easier to finally get Nexus on VZ!

I went to the VZ store to get a hands on the Nexus 6. It is big but it felt good in my hand.
I checked to see how much bloatware there was, I didn't see any. Thinking they were being hidden, I checked the Apps in the settings but that part was blocked because it was a demo device.
So I was skeptical till I heard the posts here about VZ not messing with it.

Now I have to get over the fact that I am giving up HTC for a Nexus....haha sometimes change is hard!

congrats on the new device. I know it's like beating a dead horse, but I just can't get over the black bar on the m8/9 so unfortunately I wouldn't give HTC a try. There's just to much space from the bottom of the phone to the screen for my ocd to handle.

Please let us know how you make out with the Nex 6. If you could share your battery experience it would be greatly appreciated, thx!

Had mine since Wednesday. I am so happy I waited for this - what a terrific device - it is SO much faster (mine is still stock - not rooted or anything) than my S5, it's not even close! Love the screen too! No crapola from Big Red either!

Cool! I can edge up in two weeks from my M8.
Kind of sad though because I have been with HTC since the original Droid Incredible. I was afraid the N6 on VZ would be another Galaxy Nexus. Seems maybe VZ has learned their lesson or a change of heart this time.

I sure hope we don't have a repeat of the galaxy nexus on Verizon as far as updates are concerned. Seeing as there is zero bloat, not even a boot animation, I think we may see fast updates.

We shouldn't, as long as Google continues to post the stock images. Of course, there are those that don't want to root and would prefer to wait for the OTA. That's fine too, but it should definitely help updates now that there is only one North American model.

I've also heard of those that have gotten the update faster by removing their sim card temporarily. It may make the phone forget what network you're on. Of course, I can't verify this, since I am rooted and flashed the update manually.

People may forget that the Galaxy Nexus had at least 4 different SKUs, so the Verizon and Sprint devices were really different phones with different hardware, compared to the GSM and world editions.

I just hope this means that Verizon will get the Nexus next year. Even if they don't, I'll be happy to order from TMO if it means the device is compatible.

Don't do this if you have a Moto or Google Play device, if you remove the sim you will have to hard reset device if you put a Verizon sim inside, and start over to get sim to work again from very beginning before powering on the device. Learnt the hard way.

Wow 6 months ago this thread has exploded loving the conservations though

I just got my new Nexus 6 from Verizon last week and have kept everything stock so far. Has anyone rooted a Verizon Nexus 6 and if so, how?
