Not at all saying that they would. Just that I'd be cautious.

Well if we look at the spec of the Nexus, in fact, even the Nexus 5 support all US carriers including Verizon (they just didn't allow it in their network). So likely it means all the carriers will use the same phone with the same software, just that the ones sold by AT&T, Sprint and Verizon are possibly sim locked, but hopefully not bootloader unlockable too.

Just Sprint Zone and Voicemail. My G2 has a God awful app called Sprint ID to wants you to download apps but it can be worked around.

If they've effectively pulled an "Apple" with regard to updates, kudos to them.

History suggests, however, that Android phones will be treated differently whereby carriers need to "approve" the updates before allowing them to be pushed.

History also suggests that Nexus devices get their updates straight from Google. There have been five previous Nexus devices; the GSM models have never fallen under carrier restrictions.

That's not what being discussed. We're talking about ALL carriers, not just the GSM ones. In fact history suggests that Verizon Nexus has never gotten updates on time.

From I read the N6 will be on all carriers in America. Anybody know if they will have bloatware?

Will they support volte on carriers that have it?

I'm hoping with all carriers using the same model that should solve the update problem. If you could buy the phone from the play store and use it in Verizon that's a huge step in the right direction.

If there is only one US version for all carriers, I would think that would minimize carrier delays.

However, if Verizon wanted to cause delays, wouldn't that mean everyone would see delays, similar to the Nexus 7 LTE?

If you want to talk about history. The GSM Galaxy Nexus received it's 4.2 update on mid Nov 2012. The Verizon Galaxy Nexus didn't get it until late March 2013.

I'm pretty sure Google learned from this and won't allow Verizon to do that again.

Entirely wrong when it comes to Nexus. My Nexus, bought from T-Mobile, gets updates from Google.

Agreed. Best to be cautious. Google hasn't said a damn thing and that's suspicious. If they really guarantee direct updates on all carriers its a pretty big deal and they would've announced it.

I dunno. Most people don't really care where their updates come from. Not sure it would be announced either way.

Verizon doesn't count. They're a sickness that should be ignored for the purposes of this discussion. If someone is interested in a pure Android experience, they should be a smart enough to know they shouldn't be on Verizon.

You should tell that to Google and ask them to remove Verizon from the list of supported carriers. Blind Nexus fanboyism like this is nonsense. Last I checked this forum wasn't called 'all carries except Verizon'. If they carry the Nexus, it will be discussed.

If Google can't make Verizon give updates, its Google's fault, and that should also be discussed.

You're the one being ridiculous. A phone announced by Google in their keynote is not a Nexus - now that's rich. And stupid. To millions of customers it was indeed a Nexus.

It's very true. If you want to discuss whatever frustrations people may have had with the VZW Galaxy Nexus, then you need to address that specifically. There have been several Nexus devices over the last several years. To use one device (that was unusual compared to the other Nexus devices) to predict the future of all Nexus 6 devices isn't a valid argument. The thread is addressing all carrier versions, not just Verizon Wireless' version.

The Moto X 2014 have dual LTE MIMO antennae so it can do data and voice at the same time. I'm pretty sure this will be the same for the Nexus 6, which seems to be the phone that support more carriers in one than any other phone ever.

On Verizon it can't until voLTE and advanced calling 1.0 roll out

Let the crack flashing resume!!! It is just not the same on a Note 2 as it was on the Galaxy Nexus.
This phone has only one version for the US(2 total), so dev support should be amazing.

I am excited to see a nexus on Verizon again. The release date can not come fast enough.
