Google Nexus 6 on Verizon

My plan is to use my Verizon upgrade for an iPhone 6 or 6+, sell it, and use the cash to buy the Nexus 6 outright. I'm not waiting on Verizon!

As stated earlier all of Verizon's features are not supported on the N6 until they put it in their system. Granted it is VVM but I use it hourly.

I use Google Voice for voicemail, so I don't use Verizon's VVM anyway. I'm pretty sure I won't be losing anything I need. I hope NFL Mobile works though! That's the only thing I'm worried about. I'm using a Verizon Nexus right now, so the upgrade will be worth living without NFL Mobile for a bit if I have to.

Re: Nexus 6 on VERIZON

I live in Miami, the heart of the 8th largest metropolitan area in the country. I live less than a mile from UM and vz coverage here sucks.

There is no way to prove your "fact" because it is not a fact. It is a marketing campaign.

No, it's a fact, notwithstanding your irrelevant example of coverage in your specific section of the eighth largest metropolitan area of the county.

Re: Nexus 6 on VERIZON

I just found out something interesting. I am currently off contract with unlimited data. I was just told by a representative that I can purchase the Nexus 6, keep my unlimited data and get the $25 off per month since my data plan is over 10 gig. Time to get the Nexus 6....

Re: NEXUS 6 on VZW

Was I the only one that laughed at the idea of Verizon having higher standards? Their coverage is top notch above anyone else but any higher standard comes to a dead stop right there. Can we flash back all the way to the Thunderbolt? Maybe that's too far. Shall we go with the last time they had a shot at having a Nexus on their network and dragged their feet with it then too and still the phone had issues? Those are two examples of how many others that I am sure people can come up with so there go the "higher standards". Verizon drags their feet with the Nexus line in particular as they know the owners will do exactly what they don't want them to do, root and completely remove their bloat. Now, someone could even come back with the argument that they try to keep customers from rooting to protect them then too, but only a corporate shill would even dare. In the end, it has nothing to with standards or good business practices and everything to do with control.

You can view it however you'd like. Also can you confirm the Verizon Nexus will have bloat? I've never seen any reports of that yet but you apparently have. Please, share w/ everyone.

Not sure if this actually "works" 100%. I also just talked to the Verizon rep I've been dealing with for a while (very good/knowledgeable) and he says yes, this type of "offer" is out there, but he's seen it not show up on customer's bills. It's hit or miss he says. I don't know exactly why, but just wanted to make you aware. Hope it's not the case cuz it is a sweet deal :)

Re: NEXUS 6 on VZW

As a couple others have said before me. I just tried to chat with VZW and asked them to send me a nano sim. They even asked me what phone it was for. No hassle sending me one, but I guess we'll find out what happens when my phone gets here (Friday) and the Sim arrives.

I'm curious about this since VZW does not technically consider "unlimited" to be more than 10gb

You can get the $25 discount only if you are on a tiered data plan over 10 GB, but off-contract. If you are off-contract, but on a tiered plan less than 10 GBs, you can qualify for a $15 discount. In both cases, you need to call Verizon and ask for them as they are not automatic.

For those of us on an unlimited data plan, we are ineligible for the discount. This is just another one of Verizon's things to try to get us to switch our plans.

No where in my comment did I say the Nexus 6 had bloat but I can give another history lesson and remind the class that Verizon added their own apps to the Galaxy Nexus. Who's to say that they aren't delaying for exactly that reason now?

Did you directly say it? Nope. Did you directly imply it? Sure did.

There's literally no other way to interpret your post. You are saying, in case you forgot, that Verizon "knows" people will root and remove their bloat.

I don't care what happened a few years ago either. If you feel that things don't change, then I feel bad for you.

Sounds like another person that just as an agenda w/ Verizon.... yawwwnnn.... it's old.

Buying the t-mobile one but using a Verizon sim?

I still have an account with and upgrade and considering paying full price before I ditch t-mobile. If I do this can I just get a Verizon nano and would work?

Re: Buying the t-mobile one but using a Verizon sim?

I bought one from T Mobile today and plan on doing the same thing. I already have Verizon service and a nano sim from my iPhone 6+. Phone says it has shipped and I'll update the thread hopefully Friday when it is supposed to arrive.

Depending on How cheap AT&T plans are I might get the phone there and pay ETF

I think the only one that would work with the T-Mobile Nexus 6 would be ATT since both are not CDMA networks.

That is correct. But I ordered a midnight blue 64gb model from T-Mobile myself and they told me the sim would be sim locked. It should arrive Friday or Monday so I'll let you know if it works right off the bat with a different sim.
