Google Nexus 6 on Verizon

Anyone know if the google/Motorola unlocked version has support for Verizon XLTE? I've had my Nexus 6 since January

Yes, it supports XLTE. Google/Motorola is the same phone as Verizon's with the same bands. Once you get Android 5.1, you'll also get VOLTE/HD calling and simultaneous voice and data.

I have had my phone since the 5th I have patiently waited for today to come so I could just walk into Verizon and activate my N6 as an N6. Be supported by Verizon and have visual voicemail work and all is happy and right with the world.
WRONG!
Verizon is refusing to accept my IMEI in the system because it wasn't bought from them. They blame Motorola for not releasing the IMEI to them. They also claim unless it was bought from them the phone will not work properly on the Verizon network. This wasn't from a store employee this was from Verizon tech support. They submitted a form internally to see if upper management will allow the phone to work on the Verizon network. I won't hear back from them I was told to call back Saturday because it takes up to 3 days. I asked them to call me when they had the answer. They said they couldn't make outgoing phone calls.
Arghhh! I am so disappointed in the events of today.

I have a Nexus 6 from Motorola that works on Verizon just fine. I'm waiting on the OTA to see about Advanced calling and what not but from what I've gathered as long as you've selected it on your My Verizon Account it should be good to go. All I did was cut my sim from my G3 and popped it into my Nexus, booted the Nexus and Verizon LTE activated!

Just sideloaded the 5.1 update on both my Non-Verizon bought Nexus 6's. If stock you should get the OTA anytime. Or just push via sideload.

I was told that by Verizon Tech support that it could take up to a month for the system to update and show Nexus 6 instead of non-vzw device in your account info.

Do you have a verizon sim that will fit in the nexus 6?

No I am in a Note 2. So the Sim doesn't fit. I called Verizon yesterday afternoon to see if form they supposedly filled out had been answered. No it hasn't. The person the phone was awesome. Ordered me a Sim with the PN in the system for a Nexus 6. It should be here Saturday... He tried but it won't be here until Tuesday....
The only highlight was Motorola. They were the most helpful and nicest. Offered to send a replacement phone even though they know the fault isn't theirs to appease Verizon. Again if their cell quality wasn't drastically better I would be at At&t again.

I have volte now on mine. Is that xlte?

No. Xlte is just lte on a different frequency then regular lte. Volte is where you can make voice calls on the lte network in stead of it being done on the 1x network/radio.

I imagine it does. XLTE is just Band 4 LTE, which the N6 supports. From Googles page:
North America:

GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
CDMA: Band Class: 0/1/10
WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/8
LTE: Bands: 2/3/4/5/7/12/13/17/25/26/29/41
CA DL: Bands: B2-B13, B2-B17, B2-29, B4-B5, B4-B13, B4-B17, B4-B29

Now that 5.1 is out and it's past the 12th, has anyone went into a Verizon store to see if they will activate their Play Store or Motorola bought Nexus 6?

Yes I called V to activate. They are still having issues seeing my Motorola bought Nexus 6 MEID.

After working my way through phone trees and tier 1 tech support I finally got someone in tier 2.

They used the old MEID from my old phone to activate my nano SIM.

All my services work.

But my device in the web account manager still days unknown device.

Mine says unknown device, too. I used my MotoX SIM to activate my Google Play Nexus 6, and since 5.1 I now have voice and data at the same time. Although I'm still showing LTE band 13 so I assume I am not on XLTE. Maybe XLTE isn't enabled around here.

I'm told every N6 not purchased from Verizon will ALWAYS appear as a Non Verizon device. Will work with no problems, but will never be a recognized device. Despite now being carried by Verizon those not purchased from Verizon will never have their device # in Verizon's data base.
