I'm fine with touch wiz but I do put on the Google now launcher and fine with the note 4 . As I said camera, screen quality and brightness , and battery life takes priority over updates and stock for me

I agree on all areas of this post. It's a shame b/c that deal REALLY has me leaning towards the Note 4 now but like I stated in my earlier post, I want to see both side by side before the final decision is made (not like any of you really care but hey, when you're bored at work, you type your thoughts on message boards hahaah). Sammy does the Note well. I don't think I've heard too many complain about it since their inception.

I've been admiring the Note series since the Note 3 came out last year.... I bid on a few used ones on Swappa but just never found one..... I wasn't hunting hard just casually looking and making offers.... Samsung does a really good job.. I know a few people at work who have the Note 3 and one who has the Note 4... Solid devices......

I think most of the comparisons between the Nexus 6 and Note 4 are going to be neck and neck.. Touchwiz and the added features they've baked in to take advantage of the larger screen probably make the Note 4 a slight favorite in a head to head battle... You are either going to love and use all those extra features or you are not...... If they are a big benefit for you then the Note is by far the better choice... It's a close, close battle..... My real world use I just want an over sized phone... The added features don't benefit me in my real world use.... But even the $700 on the Nexus vs the $800 on the Note 4 (out of contract and unlocked) is minimal....

But isn't the sensor the same in the two phablets?

I'd still be interested in the Nexus 6, but the crazy supply uncertainties and overall shortage has me annoyed. It's really hard to understand that there's still no way of assuring that one gets one this year.

You do realize the note 4 has the same charging feature and actually charges faster . Err 30 mins for 50% ? If I'm in a rush to get out my phone plugging in is the least of my worries

Man you must have to rush out the door often for this to be that big an issue....

The Note 4 uses the same Qualcomm quick charge 2.0 technology so the charging speeds should be pretty similar... The Nexus propaganda says 6 hours in 15 minutes and the Note 4 propaganda says 50% in "About" 30 minutes.... I've not seen any real world side by side comparison charging of the Note 4 and Nexus 6 to say one is faster than the other is hard to say considering they use the same tech to achieve the fast charging.. The wording in the charging documentation is just written differently....

Anyway stick with the Note 4... Good solid phone... I've admired the Note series since last year and even bid on a few used ones here and there... Almost got the 4 this year when it launched until the Nexus rumors started... I rooted my GS3 to a more stock Android setting and I've loved my Nexus 5 and Nexus 6.... If the Nexus 6 wasn't coming out until January I'd probably have the Note 4 right now and would be looking to sell or trade it... but would probably also be torn on what to do......

I'm with you when it comes to the Note 4. I've had all three previous Galaxy Notes. They are really cool phones but I never fully took advantage of, or used a lot of the features, I just loved the big screen and colorful display. I have to admit, I've been secretly tempted to get the Note 4, but the Nexus 6 is what I really want. I'm glad I'll finally have a Nexus phone with a big screen. Android lollipop is also very nice, from my experience with the Nexus 9.

Exactly.. I just want a big phone.... something that allowed me to sell my Nexus 7 and have just the one device... The Gimmicky stuff on the Note series I can see being a big deal to hard core professionals who need the Multi screen and S pen.... but for surfing the internet catching up on Hulu, Netflix or Google play while uploading pointless pictures to Facebook, checking Twitter and Google +........................... Nexus 6 will work just fine....

Me too... and a quarter inch is a pretty decent size bigger screen.. I do wish they would have put the 3,900 battery in the Nexus 6 but oh well.... 5 hours of actual on screen time and a full days of use on a single charge will be amazing... Most of the Touchwiz Gimmicky features I'd never use anyway..

I know I've done it before but there are plenty of people out there who will do anything and everything to justify their purchase as the right one...

I get around 10% to 50% around 30 minutes maybe like 5 mins more but still a vast improvement

Well supposedly the turbo had a Sony camera sensor like the note 4 but Idk about the nexus 6. Samsung software might make it do a better job perhaps?

If Amazon UK had the note 4 in stock I would probably order now and have it tomorrow but something strange is going on there.. Kind of liking the touchwiz version of lollipop more than stock. With my broken screen I need something asap

I am still in my return period and would of returned ,y note 4 but it seems I made the right choice. Camera sounds pretty meh , screen isn't as accurate nor as bright as the note 4 and battery life seems to be an hour less then the note 4. Hopefully the next revision is better

It is a nexus, so if you thought they would have a great camera, that is something moto and google never get right on the nexus line. The only thing really turning me away is the size. That and availability. At first I was all excited to have the phone on verizon. But now I am just like whatever and may just wait and see what gets announced at CES or wait until one of the current devices get lollipop and get that instead. I like phablets, but would have loved if google went 5.5-5.7 and cut down on some of the overall size, especially since there is no extra features to use the display like samsung incorporated.

Hopefully they get rid of the 4mp camera on the back. That is what kept me from getting an M8

The Nexus 6 has the IMX 214 Sony sensor (same as the One Plus One, but with OIS) while the Note 4 has the IMX 240 Sony sensor. Other than the megapixels, I'm not quite sure what the primary differences are, but they're both pretty good sensors.

It's a typical Nexus phone, full of compromises

- battery life not as good (worse than Note 4, iPhone 6+)
- screen not as good (worse than Note 4, iPhone 6+)
- screen color calibration is bad (worse than Nexus 5)
- flash read/write speeds are slow (worse than Nexus 5)
- doesn't have full set of features from Moto Assist, lacks hw sensors
- no sd card, no removable battery

Google seems to think putting the Nexus name and promise of quick updates is enough and they can put substandard hardware. I can't believe some of the components are worse than the N5, which was $300 cheaper.

This works for a $350-400 phone, it doesn't when you claim to be a no-compromises premium phone with premium pricing.

Ask yourself, if this weren't a 6" phone and didn't have the Nexus brand, would you still be interested?

I am still wondering why google went 6" as well. Even with super small bezels it is a huge phone. Think this would have been a killer at 5.5" Wish moto could finally get a camera right, because the moto x is almost perfect, minus the camera and for some the battery.
