re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

I don't understand who bids on the pre-order its not like they are going to get the phone any faster than waiting a few weeks and buying the phone themselves. It must be about "peace of mind"

My guess is the Play store orders will ship sooner than November 21.... Not sure how much sooner but they won't take that long to ship... I actually wouldn't be all shocked if they actually shipped late next week... I know last year I got my Nexus 5 about 20 minutes after they went on sale and it gave me a 2 - 3 week delivery date and later that afternoon I got a ship confirmation email and got it the following Monday (4 days after ordering instead of 2 - 3 weeks)

HOPEFULLY the T-Mobile stores get more than 2 or 3 per store and we can just walk in and walk out with one in a short period of time... I am going to keep checking with Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile for a possible ship/purchase date too...

The Ebay people... wow... I have some disposable income but.... wow... Just WOW!!!!! I wish I had THAT kind of disposable income...

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

The launch was a total failure and equals that of the failed N4 launch day. Handled EXACTLY the same way. No word on when it was to really go live, no word from Google about the ordering debacle and left everyone with a bad taste.
So, what happened after the N4 launch day failure? Do you remember when the supply became available? Folks who were able to order yesterday, got a ship date of Nov 17 or 21st. Perhaps by then supply will be more available?

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

Would love to be able to walk in to the Tmo store and walk out with a Nexus, no issues. Not sure if I will have that type of luck though haha

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

What a joke, still no word about the N6 ordering debacle from Android Central!

Posted using AC App & Nexus 5

I'd be interested in someone making a poll of who got what yesterday and notice any patterns.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

LOL, sounds eerie familiar, doesn't it? N6 pre-order launch = N4 pre-order launch. I said it back then and said it again yesterday. #*&! you Google! There's NO way this should've happened again. NO EXCUSE PERIOD!

I was lucky enough to get a N4 back then but, it was a nightmare for a lot of people. It came back in stock and was out again very fast, then wasn't available until the beginning of next year. I hope it doesn't turn out that way this time.

What's strange, I've never heard of pre orders running out of stock.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

there's no excuse for the lack of communication from Google to their customers. none.

Article I read said the N4 wasn't readily available in the play store until February of the following year... some 3 months after it went up for sale on the Play Store.... Crazy.....

Exactly... but seems they really want to push you towards a carrier after two years of trying to push you to buy your device outright and go prepaid..

Nexus 6 sold out in Google Play store well ahead of release date | BGR

The publication says the Nexus 6 is “huge” for Google’s future in the smartphone company, and the phone is intended to be sold mainly through carriers, rather than on Google Play.

“This is the most expensive Nexus device ever created, intended to be sold almost exclusively through the carrier channels, with only a small sliver of inventory available via Google Play,” the publication writes. “Robert Hamilton, product lead for the Nexus program, said that despite the conception by early adopters that the Nexus 4 and 5 were predominantly purchased from the Play Store, most were sold through the carrier channels.”

and I'd also like to know what their idea of a "Small Sliver" of inventory is? 10 devices?

maybe globally but in USA only Sprint and T-Mob sold Nexus 5 and only T-Mob sold Nexus 4. So Sprint and T-Mob outsold Play Store? i'm skeptical. i have yet to even see a Nexus 4 or 5 in the wild and i'm in a top 5 major east coast city! you?

I live in Dallas, TX (they list 6.7 million people in the DFW Metro area... so a decent sized market) and I can say I've seen ONE Nexus 5 in the wild and I've never seen a Nexus 4 in the wild.... I was skeptical of those remarks as well.... I was originally on Sprint when I got my Nexus 5 and the guys in the store had never seen one and never had one on display... when I switched to T-Mobile I've been in their store numerous times and never seen a Nexus 4 or 5 displayed or even advertised.. They did have a few cases and screen protectors though....

I don't think they intended to sale any from the Playstore to begin with that's why there was no formal announcement & the reason why when people were refreshing it went from coming soon to out of stock.

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

Thanks for posting that. That's the route I'm going. Ordering the 64gb on the 12th!!

Should be interesting considering I think only T-Mobile has said November 12 is the release date.... Google hasn't even offered a "Release" date.. neither has Motorola.....

HOPEFULLY we have just 13 days to buy one outright from T-Mobile...

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

:D Yup.... be interesting to see if the very small minority of people who got a preorder in yesterday get their devices before or after November 12... I've also tried to get an answer from Best Buy Mobile on when they will start selling the Nexus 6 and at what price.... They still don't list it on their website anywhere....

or the crazy people bidding upwards of $1,200+ for the preorders on Ebay.... That is just insane...

Are they selling it unlocked?

re: Google Nexus 6 Preorder Info & Reviews

There is ZERO excuse from Google treating their customers this way. Imagine going to the Apple store, you wait in line, they open, they give the first 3 people in line a phone, then just say try back later we are out of inventory. The crap-storm that would ensue would be epic. Google needs to be held to some sort of standards, this is not their first time launching a phone. So far no word out of Mountain View, and nothing from the tech blogs is just ridiculous. Is the Google-aid really that strong? Wasn't this supposed to be a pre-order? I wasn't aware there was a finite numbers of pre-orders, it is not like we are buying concert tickets.

This is not the first time this has happen & I doubt it will be the last. The blogs have said nothing because they know something that we don't & probably can't say anything at the moment. The only thing you could possibly do now is vote with your wallet.
