Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL Pre Order / Shipping Discussion

OnTrac says they delivered my phone. But no phone was delivered. I think the driver stole it.
I worked from home today because I was expecting my 2XL. My desk faces my front side walk. I can see anyone who comes to the front door through my front window.

I got an delivered email from Google but no package. After talking with OnTrac customer support...they are trying to contact the driver to find out what happened. But they said the GPS data on the truck shows it was at my house.
But no package. I checked my neighbors on both sides of me and nothing.

Google is sending out another Black 2XL 64.....

So disappointed in Google for using OnTrac.....I think the driver stole the phone. No other explanation is possible.
Maybe they left it on your porch and somebody else stole it? Or they left it on the wrong house. If you live in an apartment, I could see things get tricky.. Good for them for sending another. Hopefully things turn out fine for you man.

Please tell me your impressions of the 2XL, including the screen!
 
So, that shipping email from Google.... It says that FedEx received it, then it departed their facility and was 'in transit' and poof...it arrived back at the same FedEx facility 24 hrs later. But...the tracking isn't 24hrs old yet? Oo

Thanks! I work from home and my desk faces my front window of my house. I would have seen him pull up in front of my house and walk up to my door. I checked my neighbors houses after i got the delivery email and it wasn't left with them by mistake.
 
Today is the day. It is in my city so.. within the next 2 hours I should have it.
 
This might be a long one so I apologize in advance.

Phone was supposed to ship on the 23rd and I received an email from Google stating there is a hold on my account with Synchrony Bankon the morning of the 23rd. I follow the email link and re-select Google Financing and call Google. I get someone on the phone and he looks everything up and confirms that everything is good and the phone is in the warehouse and should go out today, not to worry. I ask why I received the hold email and he states that it was an issue in the warehouse and that it has been fixed and not to worry.

By 1:00 pm still no emails from Google, so I call back into support and explain what had happened and asked them to confirm that everything they need they have. Yep!!! we have the ref id from Synchrony bank he tells me and says every thing has processed and its going out of the warehouse no issues.

Sweet!!! I totally stop worrying about it and go about my day and around 9 PM I check my order....to my surprise nothing has changed and says still processing and the ability to cancel is still there. HMMMM.....so I started a Chat session with Google support that lasted 2 hours. Synchrony had a hold on the account and cancelled the order I was told. WHAT!!!!!! I told the rep to look at the previous notes on my account. He did and came back and said let him get to the bottom of this. Come to find out the hold was on the account and never lifted. He said I would have to contact the Synchrony and find out what is wrong. I was LIVID!!! Not because the hold was on the account but because I had two support people totally give me misinformation. I switched my payment and the phone has shipped yesterday so we are good on that end.

I asked for the support person that I was on the Chat with to please research what had happened and why I was told not to worry. As a customer I would have been waiting for a phone that never arrived. He said that based on the notes the previous two did not do their job and he was very sorry about that. He said he was going to report that and I guess that is that. What happened to "Do No Evil", I know Google no longer has that as a vision but what has happened. The least support could do was do their job. I previously had the Essential phone and had to deal with the lack of support as they were a start up, I though coming back to Google was going to be a walk in the park.

Thank you for giving space to rant, at the end of the day all is good, it is just a phone and I already have one.
 
If you go through them -- yep.

If you call Verizon support they usually will waive the fee or give you a credit in the next bill. They are making free money from uninformed customers that don't know better. It is a ridiculous charge and needs to be called out, it is just plain greed and evil.

Yeah a buddy on my plan got lucky before. Just depends on what rep you get.

Also I agree all carriers should quit doing it.
 
I got my 2 XL (Verizon version from Google) yesterday. So far I really like this phone. To me screen is great. It seems brighter than my OG XL even with the brightness setting lower.
 
Delivery date is yesterday(expedited) and still nothin hoorayy!!

Ordered on Oct. 5th - 2XL Black 64GB estimated ship date was the 24th. Still no movement, I can edit and cancel my order and no pre-auth on my CC yet. If it ships today I should still get it during the estimated delivery dates. If mine hasn't shipped by Friday then I will start to worry.
 
Verizon delivered. Ordered yesterday at 5 PM EST. It's here today at work at 10 AM EST.

I changed my order on 10/21 with a ship date of 10/23 and delivery 10/24 - 10/25. It still shows not shipped but according to Google CS it shipped on the 22nd but because of a glitch they don't have any tracking information. Maybe they should ask Amazon how it's done.
