Google selling pixel phones

Well, not surprising, google didn't sell that many pixel phones. However, I love mine and I know everyone here still loves theirs so far! as easy of a phone it is to use, it's still somewhat of a niche and geeky phone to use lol!

Wasn't there an article last week starting that they have the 3rd highest mobile shares Samsung being first followed by apple then Google. Although Google is significantly lower than the other 2 still kind of cool to be I third. Hopefully Google lands a home run with the pixel 4's. I love my 3 xl even with the notch although I do wish it had a skinnier notch.

Oh I completely agree, very cool for Google to be third manufacturer for selling smartphones! I don't mind that notch whatsoever. In fact, the fact that it has a White Angle selfie cameras ultra ultra useful and I do use it haha.

Smart phones are a saturated market at this point so unless they are selling what people want they won't have sales. Phone prices are getting way out of line and I see people cutting back on buying a new device every year. Carriers are using every trick in the book to get their customers to buy the latest and greatest device every year.

You will see less manufacturers of year by year until there is only a few making devices.

I agree I'm ok with the notch if it means u get the wide angle selfie can and front facing speakers. I have a feeling that the pixel 4 will be epic. I like the renders so far. To me the pixel 3 and 3 xl built quality is just amazing. I love the feeling of the back glass and I have the white one which literally leaves 0 finger prints when not using a case. I hope Google continues with this type of materials.

oh hell yeah between the front firing stereo speakers and the white angle selfie camera every single thing on the pixel 3 is useful and functional versus being gimmicky. That's what I absolutely love about it! You absolutely right, the feeling of the phone even with my peel case is super solid super durable and super reliable.

Very very true. Smartphone market has been fully saturated for years.

I'm not surprised. Increasing prices by 23% on the base model will slow down adoption for sure. Even with the aggressive promotional sales that have been going on since Black Friday last fall.

I'll never buy into the idea that Google needs to sell a ton of Pixels, and I don't actually think that's what they even want to, because they own all of Android. Google just needs to sell to it's core/base customer, One Plus can be the cool kid sell to everyone else...

But I think it's something for people to focus on and talk about ...

Yeah, that's true. I mean yes Android is open source and it's on many many smartphones. I'm actually shocked at Google is starting to sell a mid-range pixel phone soon.

I don't find the dual front firing speakers to be a big benefit when I compare my Pixel 3XL to my Samsung S10+. The S10+ has a bottom firing speaker and top front firing speakers, sounds great and provides more screen space.

Hard agree! It's a misstep in strategy, I believe. Previous generations can satisfy that consumer. There's no need for an additional line at this point. Just cannibalizing your existing premium line. Dedicating time, engineers, capital and additional resources ... wasteful misstep.

Yeah I mean for example, there's a person that wants a cheaper pixel, buy pixel 2XL for cheap...

it's definitely awesome too have a phone with speakers on the phone. Considering the fact that every other flash of phone doesn't even come close. Yes the bottom firing speaker is on an iPhone or a Galaxy phone are loud, but they're not full or rich.

Wonder why Google didn't sell many phones.
They offered less in data storage.
Memory.
No SD card
Small battery

And from what I hear about the pixel 4.
They want to try to give us what Samsung offered last year.
And still no 4000 ah battery.
And no SD card.

Wonder who designs their phones.

you know regarding the topic about external memory SD cards, I haven't used an SD card in years. Everything is cloud storage for me number one and number two memory cards unfortunately I have a higher risk of failing and getting data corruption. sure some people have privacy security issues for their data from cloud storage, but overall that's much faster, much safer and much easier to use.

So are you getting the pixel 4 this year?

Never had a SD card to fail.
And I can take it out and use it on my computer and other things.

At present.
After the Pixel 3XL realeased a 64 gb phone instead of a 128 gb phone.
A 3400 ah battery instead of a 4000 ah battery.
Only 4 GB ram.
When others released 6 gb.

They offered me a yr old phone for a prime price.
A last yrs phone for this yrs prices.

Google sales are down because of this kind of stuff.
Wondering why they are even in the phone business.
The people designing their phones is not paying attention.

At the present time from what I have seen on a pixel 4 specs.
They haven't done much better.
Will I give them the prices they want.
Big chance is No

Waiting to see what the Chinese phone companies offer.
Got a friend in Canada that is looking at Huawei phone.

Oh but you are Skeered they might steal your data.
Who do you think makes most of the phones.

I mean yes it's absolutely another phones have more RAM on board. However, they also have manufacturer skins over Android system which what's the time means that they need more running memory to run all the system applications and third party applications officially and smoothly. However, with the discussion of SD cards, I used to love memory cards. However, since Google made unlimited cloud storage availability for pixel phones it's just simple and easy and secure to use complete cloud backup vehicle photos. I've been doing so for yours. I'm not against other Android flashing phones of course, but I've also had a Galaxy s8 so I can speak with my experience when I say that there are certain features of pixel phones that I absolutely love but to each their own. The build quality of the phone is phenomenal, the screen is amazing, the camera is the best in class. I do truly believe that there will always be something to be said about stock Android!

They had the 128gb option if you wanted, the battery at that time only other high end phones offering 4000mah was note 9 and Huawei p20 so it was decent battery size ,ram being 4 still ran really good and they had updates to address the ram memory issue like any other manufacturer who get problem or bugs out the gate with their phones.

Dang
Bought my wife a note 9

Has a bigger battery.
More ram.
You can take pictures.
And I don't see where my pixel 3 XL takes them any better.
Don't see where the screen is any better.
And the note 9 came with 128gb storage.

I bet Google will want to charge you for cloud storage one day.

Look at the companies like Photobucket who used to let you store photo's for free to post on web sites.
Now they want money.
Look at YouTube
