Google to sell Motorola Mobility to Lenovo for $2.91 billion

Would you still buy a Moto X post Motorola/Lenovo Deal?

Hahaha. I hear ya, I'm almost right there with you.

It's how I keep myself entertained. Switching back and forth when I get too bored with one platform. Windows Phone doesn't have the apps I need so they don't get to be on the rotation.

I loved the year with my iPhone 4s. Only phone besides the note 2 that satisfied. Getting ready to go that route again and move away from the Google monster lol. Will keep my nexus though.

Yeah, I do it every now and then. I prefer Android but can't find the one phone/tablet combo on Android that satisfies me. But I know I'll be tempted by the new Android stuff the second it comes out. So I'm torn. As a company, I prefer Google. But you can't deny the build and smoothness of an iPhone.

Ever hold a wood backed Moto X in your hand? It's pretty sweet and no lag.

I have an X now. That's my daily driver. Still can't get passed the camera. Coming from an S4, it's just subpar. I LOVE the quick access for the camera, though. That should be a standard feature on all phones.

Can you be more specific about which situations the camera is sub par in?

If the lighting conditions aren't just right, the pictures turn out hazy and grainy. They really don't look good at all. And I'm not just talking about bad lighting. I'm talking about when the lighting isn't perfect. If the lighting is great, this camera takes very good pictures. But it's a crap shoot.

I had an X as well. Damn good phone, but flawed. Lenovo has a great opportunity. That said, nothing beats the reliability and smoothness that iOS provides. Plus nothing is machined like an iPhone. Love my Android though, frankincense that it is, and I don't mind adds.....but dang....nothing like premium software that is not freeware.

Is that a hardware or a software problem? It seems to me like it would be an exposure problem fixable by software.

So does the GNote3.

That's a shame :( There's no excuse for that these days... I've yet to experience any stutter/lag with the Moto outside of apps and that's not very often.

On a side note, my Windows phone had ZERO lag and was smooth as butter! Not many apps or customization choices though... Hardware camera button was nice but the Moto has that covered with the shake.

It a software problem, it maxed out the ISO value. I tried Camera Zoom FX to manually adjust the ISO value but the view finder become messed up, have to find and app that can control the ISO value.

If it's a software problem why hasn't it been corrected. The X has been out for a while now and the one common and consistent complaint is the camera...so it's not like they're unawares.

It have the same issue where if I change the ISO value anything shown on the view finder have real low frame rate and blurry so I can't see what I'm shooting, I don't know if the devs are lacking some Motorola drivers, I'll just have to wait for 4.4.2 to see if it's fixed.

I was messing around with the camera apps and checking the differences, just playing around in my guest room and here's the pics, noticeable differences- the biggest one is lack of HDR and you can see jagged lines along my coat and lamp shade.

Moto X camera (4.4.2):

We all live on the same planet, including the Chinese. ...besides, I love both native and Americanized Chinese food. Now, if say, someone from Mars came and bought it I'd be a little disappointed. Motorola is the one that decided their mobility unit was up for grabs so everyone needs to be poked, its them, IMO. I know, I know, my view is not popular but it's not designed to be.

Since I own a Shar-Pei (best dog EVER), I certainly can't say nothing good ever comes out of China. The only thing I won't purchase out of China is jerky treats for my Pei. In the end, it comes down to the phone. If Lenovo lets Moto continue to do what they do, and feeds them money to let them do it well, I will most definitely be on board with a Moto X2.

Motorola and Lenovo!

Now that some days have passed and everybody had time to think about this, I would like to know what do you MotoLovers think about the future of Motorola.

Do you think we will see Lenovo phones rebranded with a Motorola logo? Or you think Motorola will keep making awesome phones like the Moto X and Moto G under Lenovo's command?
Do you think is worth to keep faith in Motorola or what do you think?

Thanks for sharing!
