Google wallet error

Mine works, bought some stuff at 7-11 today. added some money a couple of times no problem

I had the same problem and the Google CSR walked me through resolving the problem.

Go to Google Wallet
Click on the horizontal ellipsis (...)
Go to Settings
Click on Reset Google Wallet

...Unfortunately, I can't remember if there was a step after that and am unwilling to click on it to find out as I do not wish to reset my own. However, it finally stopped giving me an error message after I did that and I was able to set it up.

Hopefully, this helps you and I have not responded to you in another post. I just thought I would try to help out my fellow EVO LTE users with the one thing I do know about this particular issue. :)

I'm not getting an ellipses. I just get the screen that shows "get started" or "learn more" options. When I first got it, it worked great and I used it to make a purchase then I added money to it and it doesn't work??

Just called them today, and they say the same thing, that its a "know issue with the application" and they are monitoring the situation very closely with no ETA available....

this is extremely frustrating, considering google wallet being a key feature on the phone.

Going to give them till Friday to get it running...if not, then its time to root so I can use this FEATURE of the phone!

How is rooting going to fix Google Wallet? They have a fix for it? I know in order for me to even get the GW account enabled, I had to switch phones, then it worked fine.. just can't add any cards (had other issues as well, thiat being just one).

This requires root. Also, is it true that Google blocked the Evo intentionally? If so, I wonder if Sprint's nfc wallet development has anything to do with it.

Yes, I know it requires Root...I said that in my post 3 post's above your's. Anyway I did root tonight and did the mod/hack to the build.prop file as the instructions stated and it worked perfect...so much for me waiting till Friday to root. All is well with my wallet, going to try it out tomorrow.

Did the same thing as u. Was all fun and flashing. Until I flashed a Rom and tried to use wallet and got the secure element not responding error. Now I got to go exchange my phone for a new one (luckily within 14 days).

I won't be messing with google wallet at all until they say the EVO is good to go. It's really just a gimmick anyways and am kinda wanting to just keep my phone since everything else about it is pretty good.

I followed every precaution and all I can think is that by changing the build.prop and fooling it once it was looking for something in that build.prop that's the same as before. By flashing a new Rom the build.prop was changed.

Maybe it won't do it to everybody's phone, and I used to think my phone is invincible too. The NFC is very finnicky and sensitive. Seems to see all no matter if u deny it access or not.

I want to ask the obvious. Do we REALLY care about Google Wallet?

Seriously it can only be used with one CC that most of us don't have. So we have to do the pre-pay thing, which to me it is just easier to use my damn debit card.

Very few places even accept this and even if they do we have to have some cash ready to go on it since it is pre pay for all but that one cc.

I am just having a hard time understanding how this really matters in the end. I wanted to get it working just for fun but I doubt I would use it even once.

Also if Sprint and others now want to do their own versions then that is just going to make things worse. All retailers need to agree to accept it and that is not easy, hell there are a lot of places that STILL do not accept American Express cards. One reason I never wanted one.

What Google needs to do is simply allow retailers to accept this as a simple RF tag to a normal Visa/Mastercard that can be used with ALL of your current normal accounts and the retailer gets paid directly just like any other CC transaction.

The other problem is Credit cards are not that big and hard to carry and I doubt we would all completely stop carrying them even if this worked 100%. I like knowing that my cards are there. Do I want to be out on vacation 500 miles from home and need cash and want to rely on a device that may be dead because I used it all day or it broke. It could happen. If I drop my credit card I just pick it up. I would still have my CC's with me in my luggage at least as a backup.

Bottom line is for every day usage this should simply be a device that we can add our current cards to so we only have to carry the phone for convenience even if we have our CC's with us..

If it is proprietary then it will fail rules by some miracle everyone agrees to it which I doubt will happen.

My Google wallet seemed to be working, never used it, but it showed my $10 balance on the pre-paid card. I went to use it today and it "unfortunately, Google Wallet has not yet been certified in your country or on your device / carrier". Not sure what happened. Anyone else seeing this?

OMG - looks like Google and Sprint relationship might have fallen apart... This is sounding like such a fail..

Hello,
I don't think that this is Sprint/Google related rather a software issue specific to the EVO 4G LTE Device. If this was a Sprint/Google issue then logic dictates that it would be impacting the Sprint Galaxy Nexus and the other LG phone.

I will however say that I am very disappointed in the way that Sprint/Google/HTC and Money Network is not communicating with the customers.

For me, it is not about just $10.00 but around $100.00
