Google wallet error

WOW !!!! Getting the dreaded unsupported device now ... I mean it doesn't even try to load now ... This is getting more and more ridiculous by the day.

So what do you all think is going on? Could law suits be on the horizon?

I am curious as to what you think one could sue over.

I guess there could be contractual lawsuits between Google and Android, but that would entail something beyond a software issue.

As for the consumer, lawsuits in this context would always have to be about the measure of damages. What actual damages has someone incurred by not having access to Google Wallet? Not having access to the free $10.00 on GW is not a damage to you, unless you could convince a court that you specifically purchased the EVOLTE for no other reason that to get $10.00 free. Good luck with that.

I have a sinking feeling that we will not be getting to use GW.
There are too many software issues with this phone. :(

How can it be software related when all u have to do is change 3 lines of a property file? Ur fooling it into thinking ur using a nexus and it works...

There's a problem w money network servers not being able to handle a big release phone or a contractual problem probably.

Please don't try and pin this on software. Phone is getting an undeserved bad rap as it is.

Hello,
I can confirm that the change does not allow purchases to be made, only allows the device to be activated. I tried it personally. Just remember that there are other HTC Phones and Sprint Phones using the wallet. The issue seems to be isolated to 1 sepecific device.

Something tells me that it may also take a HTC Software update to fix it

When I called Money Network they told me that Google was having problems and had no time frame when it might be fixed so I just kept trying to activate the prepaid card every few days. Now Google Wallet just gives me this error "Unfortunately, Google Wallet has not yet been certified in your country or on your device / carrier" with no other choices.
What happened to my account that I wanted to reset so I could root my phone?
You can't uninstall because its in firmware. All you can do is disable the app so its not in your app list.

I did the fix before and I could make purchases, so, hello, obviously Google blocked the phone from making purchases.

It is not and I repeat, IS NOT software on your phone causing the issue. Why? Because it worked before and it worked w the GT-I9300 fix. How is it not obvious to u that this phone can perform all the functions it's supposed to, just has a block on it?

So don't say u know what ur talking about unless u actually do. And don't get all technical saying something about the block being in the phone software.

Called Google wallet and they say techs are working on the problem.

I love it when people try and act like they know what they're talking about. I talked to a sprint rep online and they also said that google was working onfixing some security issues and that that is why its not working. Just like the guy above said all they did was block it so as for the other guy don't go spreading around fake rumors

There are people who were able to activate it before this whole issue began cropping up, and even put more money into their pre-paid cards... because let's face it, $10 isn't very much, and one can easily blow through that on one shopping trip.

For people such as these, now they cannot use the money that they've put into their Google Wallet accounts. Do you really think these people have no grounds for a lawsuit?

Not at all. I have $100.00 in my Google Wallet now, and I called money network who advised that they can issue a refund check upon request.

Lawsuite shawsuite....

It just stinks that Sprint of all the people is staying mum on this. They had this as one of the touted features in all promos fro this phone, and now they are not saying a word on what the hey is going on !!!

At least tis is black and white - that it just does no twork, unlike the crappy camera which is subjective and stil la fail.

I like the overall grace and presence of this phone. but this just stinks.

2 weeks later and my wallet is still dead. I so badly want to flash a new ROM but cant even get into the wallet to clear the settings. I dont want to brick the secure element.

It's rather ironic that Sprint recently sent out some Sprint news updates to their customers, one of which is trying to entice them to buy the new Evo, which shows this page:

Touting Google Wallet on a phone where Google Wallet isn't working? Wow, Sprint. Wow.

Highly doubt it, send a screenshot of your past purchase history showing that you were able to use it today.

It does work if you're rooted and applied the Wallet APK with the device check removed. I purchased my breakfast this morning using Wallet with that APK.

Dont think I need to "convince" you.
