Gorilla Glass 4 on the Galaxy S6 = Not that tough.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the purpose of gorilla glass to help resist scratches better as opposed to being more resilient to shattering?

Yes exactly

I think 3 feet is pretty standard, considering most people on earth are not 7 ft plus tall so their pocket are around 3 feet. Everytime I've dropped my phone its been either pulling it out of my pocket or getting out of my car forgetting I had just sat it in my lap both of which are less than 3 feet dropped. The only time I've dropped my phone higher than 3 feet is when I dropped it down the stairs with a thin TPU case on, it bounced around landed on the floor unscathed.

It's glass, people. Glass tends to break. The GG4 is just a lot less likely to shatter.

There's no point in my mind to purchasing a high tech thin phone and wrapping it in a turd. Won't happen with me, my phone's endured probably 50 drops over it's lifetime (3 years) and countless construction site abuses all in a thin case. It's been dropped in gravel, asphalt, concrete, wood, snow, dirt, and it's still ticking. It's had paint, thinset, compounds, and all other construction junk all over it.

Now, the phone looks like a complete disaster but it still works!

This is the most retarded thing I have read so far. you're saying that buying an expensive phone doesn't warrant a case to protect it? There's plenty of cases that wont turn your phone into a "turd". I'm all about going naked depending on where i go with it, but i also have a few cases for different situations. The GS6 is made of 90% glass, i think getting a case is a good idea, especially people who can't afford to spend $649 since their locked in to an agreement...

The insurance deductible is nothing to sneeze at.

Can you read? I said I have a thin case and so far it's proved its effectiveness with MANY drops, all the proof I need to continue with a thin case for this one.

Whoa! Dial the temperature down. He does have a point. Recent drop tests showing multiple hard drops where the glass gets stressed enough to show damage.

Huh? What point? He stated "you're saying that buying an expensive phone doesn't warrant a case to protect it?" in regards to my comment that I felt a thin case is sufficient based on plenty of drops with my current phone. Nowhere did I state that I thought going caseless was a good idea. I also stated my my phone looks like a train wreck but it still works fine. Re-read my post if you're confused.

You guys have been S6aholics for too long already.

Let's all step outside and smell the roses.
