Gorilla Glass 4 on the Galaxy S6 = Not that tough.

Is anyone worried about the camera since it sticks out so much? I always keep a thin case on my phone but with a thin case that camera is going to be the first thing that hits when you drop it on it's back. I use the camera a lot so if that get's scratched or broken I'll have to end up using my warranty.

The Galaxy s5 camera sticks out just as much, dropped a few times with slim case and even without a case and no problems

I've ran my Note2 without a case for close to two years. I've never liked the bulk of cases. I drop my phones all the time. They ding, but they don't break.
Another reason I've never cared about so called 'premium materials'.

Noooooooo, (crying face) don't drop the Galaxy S6.

No one ever said GGxyz was ever indestructible, its scratch resistant. I tend to protect my investments with cases, others may not feel the same way.

I'm with you. As the devices get pricier, you need to protect your investment.

Its one of my concerns with getting an S6. If you watch Android Authority's review of the phone you'll see that the glass that protects the camera had cracked. They were trying to prop it up to show off the back and it fell flat on the camera wart. Luckily it didn't affect their picture taking ability, but its obviously a problem. Kind of strange that they didn't go with Sapphire like HTC did with the M9.

I guess you're expecting bullet proof glass on the GS6, it's glass after all if it falls most probably it's going to be broken

At least we aren't stuck with a nonQHD display and a slower processor and a giant battery that does worse than the smaller one in the GS6.

Don't really care about qHD on a device with that screen size, personally.

I played with one and honestly could not tell it was 1440p. Without looking at the spec sheet, it looked like 1080p to me. Despite that, the screen was really vibrant and everything looked great on it.

PenTile might have something to do with it, but I think 1440p on screens 5.2-inches in size or smaller is pointless.

Hello people glass will break if your supid enough to drop your unprotected phone on concrete are put it in the sink of water what the hell do these dumb test prove that stupid people do stupid things

Philip, you are using the d and s word a lot today. You okay man?

Oh no... Although I don't take much from this test because you have to consider real world application. The iPhone 6 plus bent in pockets because it's long and thin, the gS6e is shorter so I doubt this test can really prove anything. Nevertheless I like information so here it is the s6 edge bends and breaks as easy it not easier then those bendable iPhone 6 plus.

Which also brings in to the conversation, is "premium" materials really better? Sure they look and feel nice but they tend to be far less durable. I guess humans at heart just like shiny things no matter how illogical it is...

It is a step up over plastic. What did want titanium? LOL. Hoping the next iteration will limit GG to the front and have a sealed aluminum backing flush with the camera,

I only want reinforced aluminium in that amount. (Thinking of Bendgate).

Did you see the AA article? Here's a thought. Lose weight or don't sit on your phone.
