Gorillaglass this AINT!

I had my gnex for 4 days when I took it to a bar on new years. I dropped it on the floor with broken glass where it was then stepped on. I picked up my phone and not only was it still working but it only had one scratch in the top right corner of the screen. Maybe not gorilla glass, but still impressive. Had I owned an iPhone i don't doubt that the front and back casing would be shattered.

Are the Steinheil Ultra Series protectors available at Best Buy or any retail store? I only see them online..

I've had the Stenheil Ultra on my DInc for 1.5 years. Best protector I have had...it's not invincible, but it truly has invisible up until it finally scratched. And the screen remains pristine underneath it.

Don't buy. They don't cover the whole screen, leading to this extremely annoying lip when you're doing stuff near the edges of the screen.

I honestly never cared enough to find out what my mytouch4G has, but I have had my phone for 8 months now and never have I noticed a scratch on my screen. I have had it in my pockets, with change and multiple keys and still good......kicker, I don't even rock a screen protector.

Which is the best dry application to purchase? Verizon brand anti-scratch one?

The Verizon ones are trash. No dry application protector goes all the way to the edge of these curved screens. Its not possible. Steinheil is far and away the best.

Steinheil available only online?

As far as i know. You are not going to find anything good quality in the stores. Anyone that tells you different is trying to sell something, lying, or doesn't know what they're talking about.

Scotch tape is what I have used. Apply. See a dust bubble. Partially Lift. Apply tape right side up and down. Release and use edge to press out any bubbles. If you don't like fingerprints matte is best. Pic quality is best with glossy.

Don't they leave a orange peel effect? That's all I've ever seen.

Only garbage wet protectors like Zagg. This is the big problem with screen protectors. Everyone is so accustomed to seeing that crap that they think it applies to all.

I'll say this... I've had several close calls with this phone. I've had it since release. I've dropped it plenty. I've dropped it twice while on the treadmill (once where I even stepped on it... toes only, not full weight). I have the VZW case on it everytime I've dropped it, even though I frequently tote the phone naked. That hard plastic has saved my Arse sooooo much already. I have the case for my thunderbolt as well which survived a 7-8 foot drop from my double decker washer-dryer combo. No marks on either device. Get a case and remember, accidents happen.

I made the mistake of putting my phone in the same picket as my keys and I got a pretty big scratch out of it. Extremely cheap glass, Ill remember this the next time I purchase a phone, no gorilla glass, no deal for me. Pretty ugly scratch dead center. Very disappointed in this phone. Brightness drops considerably and now this glass is heap like plastic. I can take a photo if anyone is interested.

You do realize gorilla glass scratches?

Nothing scratches as bad as this glass. I carried my epic 4g in my pockets with coins and keys all the time with ni issues. One slip up on my gnex ammnd now an ugly scratch. Gorilla glass dies not scratch easily.

When we own $500+ phones, we really shouldnt have them in our pockets with keys and coins. Or anything other metal. I dont care if the phone seems invisible. Its obvious that what some people are getting, there clearly asking for. The phones not Bulletproof.

18 months treating the htc incredible any way i wanted and it didnt have as many scratches at the nexus has in 1.5 months

Also, saying you treat it just like your old phone and your old phone had no scratches is the equivalent of parking a new car in the same spot as your old car and then blaming the car for the scratched that your old car never got. Ridiculous.

Really? You scratch a lot of phone screens?
