First timer rooter here - I have the XT908 and I can't even find anywhere to start learning the process of how to root and put JB on my phone. Any ideas/help/websites/pointers?

Here's another ALLTEL build for you all to try out until Cole2kb gets setup. I noticed wifi-tether isn't working anymore, can someone verify this. One thing new in the builds is Crystaltalk, See Phone / Menu / Settings then Voice Quality and Noise Suppression.

This repo sync nonsense is a joke. Has been since my days trying to build for my Optimus V on Virgin. Still trying guys. Might just have to wait until my internet gets upgraded, or set up a build box at another location, which will take me a while to get set up.

I appreciate the work you guys are doing. This is the happiest I've ever been with a phone. I went from an HTC hero to an OG Droid to an HTC merge to a droid x and now this. I wouldn't have this great cm10.1 ROM on my phone without you guys. Thanks!

Yea I'm kinda excited to see what the at&t change over brings but the RAZR maxx is the best device I've had so far and I'll be sad to part with it.

Created my own patch for a local cell company, called thumb cellulr in michigan, also tied in with verizon for the xt908 from the guide cole first posted got everything besides mms working even fixed non 3g problem I originally had. What can I look at in build prop to get moms working. Tried some stuff With gosms but can't seem to hit it yet. Thanks

Using stock from I tried to get into the apns but it just hangs on the screen, everything is responsive but won't load the info so I got n app for backing up apns settings and have it saved with a bunch of info...little bout thumb cell, mainly Verizon. Would that file work?

How hard is it to do?

Just went back to stock looking thru system/ect have 52 xtl apn files as well ranging from things I've never heard of to cell com, and all tell, and Verizon

X shortcut took me to apn settings where there is two thumb cell things and 13 Verizon most settings say '' not set''

Here's what I found and think Thumb's settings are. See if what you found is similiar to the following.

Add this to you apns-conf.xml in system/etc folder...

Modify Alltel's info in your build.prop file in /system...
ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=311050
ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha=Thumb Cellular

Once changed, reboot and see if mms works. If not try fixing permissions in Safestrap.

Can't send or receive. I'll keep playing around update if I get anywhere. That was with codes and fixing permissions

Only other thing I can think of is you may need to add the verizon ones you mentioned. My carrier, alltel and ntelos don't list these in the stock app, but Thumb does.

New idea. I have my phone has no sim card. I have has a slot for a 4g card next to sd card slot but while trying apps for changing apn settings always get no sim card errors... So my question is could this be my problem?

Does your 3G work? If not this may be your problem. Goto System settings. Then under Wireless & Networks pick More..., then Pick Mobile networks, then CDMA subscription and make sure it's set to NV. If it wasn't NV try a mms message and see if it works.

3g works perfectly fine since I changed some things in build prop. And nv was selected when I first boot the phone on black widow ics. Everything is 100 percent working except mms which I can receive but not veiw after I download or send. Apn settings are blank but I can't get any settings to actually save. I write out all the info hit menu key save n it stays blank, and somewhere read waiting thirty seconds then just hitting back key will auto save and nothing, but apn apps set as system apps genually give some type of error about not having a simple card
