I agree with you. Haha a screen this big could be easy on the eyes :)

I'm just worried how the screens going to be. Hear mixed reviews regarding the display quality. However ill probably still get it. I'm also worried about what's next with LTE. This thing gonna become obsolete quick or good for many months ahead... we shall see.

LTE will not make phones obsolete very quickly. It will first be for data only and will be in 25-30 markets covering approx 100mil people. That is only 33% of the country population wise. And ther rest will go much slower since the population density is not near as great for the other 67% of the country. If you are lucky enough to live in or right next to one of the first markets covered then I am sure your time to coverage will be much quicker or if you live on an interstate. But short of that the whole build out has been projected to 2014.
So it will not be a very quick thing really unless in a major city.

Ugh, I can't wait to get my black slate goodness!!

Back to X questions, did you try the keyboard out? I really want to know if the bigger screen makes the portrait keyboard easier to use. I use the compact qwerty on my Storm, i'm wondering how it compares. Oh! How about swype, did you get to use it?

The keyboard is much larger than the software keyboard on the original Droid, and as for Swype, I'm not a fan of it, I mean it does look cool, but it's just not for me.

How did the device feel in terms of fluidity of opening programs, browser speeds, scrolling speed in the browser. How was its responsiveness and did it seem to slow down after opening many apps? How was its screen? Ive read reports that its display isnt as nice or clear as the Inc which I currently have but intend on selling it if I get the X. I may go pre-order it today if I decide to get it at Best Buy.

Dear cousin,

:p:p thanks to you i will also be getting the DX. haha :p:p
I would appreciate it if you would make the 2.2 Froyo hurry up and come out for the X though. lol

Everything on the phone was extremely fast, I have also messed with the Incredible some, and to me it seems as though the Incredible is a little more crisp, but you also have to think that the pixels per sq inch are not as high as that on the Incredible, but you also have a much larger screen.

If that wasn't what you were looking for ask again:cool:

The live wallpapers on the Droid x do not make it seem any slower, however I imagine it does drain the battery a lot quicker.

Sent via my father's original droid.

That's good to know cause on my DInc the live wallpapers definitely slow the device down which is annoying because I like live wallpapers but they slow it down too much. And also, if the battery is better then the DInc then ill be very happy. My DInc can hardly get a half days use out of it which is pathetic for a 575 dollar device.

The only reason it doesn't slow it down really is due to the GPU it has We were running the live wallpapers at the same time as the Need for Speed demo and it didn't get lag any at all.

Did you get to use the camera at all? I've heard some people say that it took rather shaky pictures during reviews due to the rigid camera button. Doesn't it have an on-screen button that would eliminate that??

I have a question about the "not-motoblur" motoblur stuff that is on the phone.

Does the motoblur stuff feel as clunky and unresponsive as it appeared on all the video walk-throughs I've seen?

I am asking because I was fortunate enough to handle an Incredible. I like the Sense interface well enough but I don't fancy the added time it will take for HTC to release any OS updates.

I'm currently a Storm user and would rather pull each of my finger nails out slowly and cauterize them than keep it after messing with the Incredible...

I realize you may not be able to answer, but is this non-motoblur motoblur stuff so deeply embedded that it will delay OS updates significantly the same as the HTC?

As a dear friend of mine, who is a former Motorola device engineer, once told me, "Motorola brass always finds a way to screw something up in every one of their devices." I'm hoping the motoblur stuff doesn't screw it up too badly, or delay updates.

I wonder how 3.0 will impact Sense and motoblur. It would seem a great improvement to have most devices updated fairly immediately without all the OS customization stuff.

I digress... if you can answer any of my questions regarding the software clunkiness, thanks.

All the "Motoblur" on the Droid X is, is a couple of widgets that integrate contacts with social networking a tiny bit. So rather than worrying about how bad motoblur is, get the phone and don't use those widgets, besides "Android Markets got an 'app' for that.":p

Oh jeeze, I forgot the update thing, a friend told me that Froyo is hitting the Droid X sooner than the original Droid, as thats Verizons priority right now, so think late July to late August hopefully! :)

The camera on the Droid X is amazing, when recording video, my friend and I were trying as hard as we could to make the thing get choppy and it just wouldn't, but I also know that the pictures are not as good as the ones on the iPhone, but who cares really? It's a cell phone cam with a software problem, I'm willing to be that "Theres an update for that".;)
