Kind of curious if there will even be a S7A now that the standard S7 is IP68? I am an ATT customer, but if there is an S7A, it needs to be on all carriers to get attention/updates.
That's a good question. Unless Samsung puts together a screen like the Droid Turbo 2 (Crack and shatterproof) and retains the 3500 mah battery, there is really no reason to. I'd say that IP68 and up will be standard on all Galaxy flagship models from now on. There is no need to make a device with a "rugged design" if it doesn't have increased durability (including the screen).
When I look at the S6Active and all of its advertising, I can't help to think, "This is the phone for:
- Construction workers
- Hikers, those who kayak, mountain bikers and such
- Those who spend a ton of time outdoors and near water
- People who value durability and functionality over aesthetics
