[GUIDE][8/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Re: [GUIDE][7/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

enjoy. i think he has other custom packs as well, but this one was the most nexus-y

im trying to stay away from the theme section, custom roms are addicting enough without introducing another variable

Re: [GUIDE][7/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

So what is the most stock version of Jelly Bean out right now? I want to root and upgrade to JB but I like the stock look instead of a altered ROM. Also since its been awhile since I have flashed a ROM on my android, is there a way to put my pictures I have taken back on my phone after I flashed Jelly Bean? And is there a one click unlock and root program out there? I remember seeing one awhile back but I cannot remember what it was.

I'm right there with ya! Themes tend to make things messy, IMO. I like this mod a lot though, subtle but very slick.

are you unlocked/rooted already? if not, you should copy over all of the stuff you want to keep (pics, vids, etc), or move it into dropbox (and wait for it to sync to cloud). otherwise, it will stay on the SD Card

the most stock seems to be jelly belly (current v1.7)

whoah, i channeled dmmarck on that one... haha

Re: [GUIDE][7/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

It's affecting different devices, no doubt, but it is not the rom--trust me on this :). It's a weird, weird issue for sure, with no readily available explanation.

You really think it's not a ROM issue? My GPS worked for about 20 minutes yesterday but now I can't get a lock. I don't use it daily, but it'd be nice to know it's available.

When will Google Now be fully functional? Mainly when will the sports cards be working?
Any news on this?

They work, at least mine do. You have to go into your google account and enable web history. Then do a search from your phone for a team and it should eventually add a card.

What is not working about sports cards? Mine showed me the scores from my two teams yesterday and this morning had preview info for upcoming games

Re: [GUIDE][6/29] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

This was my first ROM flash and it's quite simply.......

THE MOST INCREDIBLE THING EVER!!!!!!

This community is AMAZING!

Thanks to everyone!

Also, I seem to be getting a 4G LTE signal now that I've rooted from Verizon's towers. Is that normal? I recently looked at their coverage chart and I shouldn't have a 4G signal.

I'm getting ready to do the same later tonight. Which one did you go with? It seems like a piece of cake with the amazing guides that are out there...

It's definitely a piece of cake, and the best part is that after doing it once or twice while glancing at a guide for reference, you start to go "oh, that makes total sense." It just keeps getting better from there. I had read most of the guides on AC/RW/XDA, but none of them quite fit with my mentality and so I didn't quite understand it all.

Unlocked, rooted, and flashed a ROM, kernel, and radios, and it made complete sense. :)

There are two JB13 Kernels on that page. Any idea which one is the right one?

i believe one is stock with linaro optimization, the other is bone-stock
jelly belly 1.7 comes with the linaro version, but you can flash the stock one if you so choose

I don't think either has linaro. One has a higher max cpu option, the other has a lower max cpu option. I chose the higher, because speed.

That's normal, ignore it. It should have completed after that--I believe it's the last line (or second to last line) of the install script.

That's how it's able to not corrupt our stuff like other ports may or may not do. Or at least part of it, if I understand the discussion about it that I have been reading.
