[GUIDE][8/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

I wasn't able to load the link either. Saw on RW people have had so so success with flashing it.

I'm waiting and I think that's the safest route.

It worked five minutes ago I hope I won't regret flashing it.

Agree... even if people aren't having issues with it, I don't like the notion one bit. There is no reason to upgrade the bootloader right now, especially with something not built specifically for this phone.. its actually pretty darn reckless, IMO.

I see no real advantages to having it right now either. The 404 bootloader works fine and at least we know what we're getting into with that.

Yoda, in that thread, did they state perceived advantages of having it?

Re: [GUIDE][7/6] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

I'm still running Jelly Belly 1.6. I'm pretty happy with it actually. Could I dirty flash all the way to 2.2, and do you think it's worth it? Will I likely see some big improvements.

Ok so there a site or somewhere to post errors with jb2.2?
I understand its a port but the dev keeps turning out updates and I want them to know what is not working.

[ROM] Jelly Belly v2.2 - 07/05/2012 - [JellyBean] [4.1] - It's all about speed! - [VZW] Galaxy Nexus Development - RootzWiki

Jake is pretty responsive at times. But post there and other devs will acknowledge. Or go to their IRC channel, which seems to be a bit better. IRC is located on the first post of that thread above.

You can and yes I do. It's a great release.

Check his original thread; he's good about answering.

Anyone got a different link for Gapps for 2.2. Neither link on Rootzwiki works.

I am back from my trip and am still on Vicious v2. Is there any major reason to upgrade to a newer ROM? This one seems to be working fine, other than the occasional crash and slow GPS lock.

As they say if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Thanks. Downloading now. 2.2 is a very slow download at the moment.

Little bugs like boot time and crashing have been worked out of later releases. If they don't bug you, then no, I see no real reason to upgrade.

Where can I find the JB Trinity Kernel Builds? I think Franco might be causing my battery to drain a bit quicker.

4th post, try the first or second link under the Trinity section/area. Go to "Experimental." Be careful with the OC'd ones, you need to turn off Smart Reflex (MPU).

I switched over from Franco yesterday and my battery has been MUCH improved. Speed has been no different if not improved slightly, but nothing truly noticeable.

I'm off charger today so I should be able to provide some battery feedback, although i'm not really using it much. I'm just glad not to see it drain at idle lol.
