[GUIDE] Nexus 4 - Factory Image Restore

Like many replies to this thread, I was hanging on the X logo. The solution was to use the fastboot from latest version of the android SDK. Using the fastboot attached to this thread did not work for my phone. Using the latest fastboot made it all work just fine. Hope that helps!

hi guys,
nothing worked for me, I'm interessed in toolki methob but can someone please put some details on how to do it ? My Nexus has been stuck on X logo for 3 days now and I'm almost running out of options; please help :'(

Dude, thank you, thank you, thank you for this post. I was already thinking about sending the phone in for unbricking. You totally saved my day here. Do you have a Flattr account?

Hey guys, pease I need your help :(
I used the guide with a MAC, everything went fine ( except for last line i had to remove the "-w" as it gave me a list of commands. after removing it it started flashing the thing ).
Now after the last reboot, the phone is stuck in the X logo. First it takes a long time to pass through the Google Logo but then it's the X one and this time it doesn't boot.
What did I do wrong? what SHOULD I do?
Thanks

Using a Mac here as well, and "fastboot -w" worked just fine using the latest Android SDK from Google ("adt-bundle-mac-x86_64-20130729").

It worked for my Nexus 4, maybe try again with an updated Android SDK? The "fastboot -w" is for "erase userdata and cache (and format if supported by partition type)", maybe this option is crucial, maybe not....

im stuck on android is upgrading tried 3 different usb but nothing works any help will b appriciated

Come again, please? What do you mean by "Android is upgrading" - You tried to upgrade Android? It's upgrading by itself? And "tried 3 different USB"? What, 3 different cables? 3 different ports? Any more details on that "nothing works", hm?

Thank you so much! I thought I bricked my phone and couldnt find any solution for Mac owners. You are a lifesaver! Gonna add this page to my bookmarks right now!

Hi, i try the factory image restore becouse my phone stuck on X logo at boot. I followed the guide and every step works fine but the stuck problem continues. Also try the oem lock and unlock but no luck. any ideas?

Hello, I followed all the steps in this tutorial without any issues but still my phone is stuck on the "X" screen. I tried the OEM lock and unlock, and that did nothing. Is there anything else that I may be able to do, or another guide I should look at to fix this issue?

Dude, i don't know who you are and i don't know where you live.
But i LOVE you! I was so freaking scared but you saved me <3

Thanks for being the awesome GOD you are and have an AMAZING life, you deserve it!

I used all of your instructions here to revert to 4.2.2 because I can't get past the X screen on my nexus 4 with 4.3 no matter how I go about it. 4.2.2 seems to be working great, only problem is it doesn't seem to be registering my sim at all. Just says no service. Tried different sims, no good. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the guide, but my N4 is still not restoring; My computer is apparently having trouble with the last big .zip file. I tried to flash all the elememts of the .zip seperately, and all of them worked except "fastboot flash system system.img" because it cannot find the file. Please help, everything else worked fine except that one stupid file! What can I do?
