I understand the first part about gingerbread but wtf us the second part about? You should have no problems with modules....

I don't know what exactly I have to do I'm just asking for that first step.....lol
And for that second part on reborn there is data2ext in modules. Y gingerbread doesn't. Have it

Re: Help please data2ext.;)

Look at the link I posted. It's all the steps... its the other way around reborn doesn't have them. Cm7 port does

Re: Help please data2ext.;)

Actually I'm kind of confused about this whole situation too. Am I supposed to make a partition first, or do the zips from the data2ext thread do that? It never really specifies, and I think I understand what's going on, but I've bricked my phone twice, and I thought I knew what was going on then too. Please, I know I may seem stupid, but sdext is something I've never delved into before. If I guess wrong and brick my phone again, I might just break down and shoot myself in the head.:'(

Oh jesus christ. I jumped and partitioned my sd card, I didn't know it would wipe my whole card. I have backups, but god, I don't feel like doing this at 1 in the morning.

Anytime you play with partitions plan on losing any info on it.

Grab the ext2 data2ext and flash, follow the instructions to format and set block size, restart and run the data2ext --enable then restart. You can verify it worked by looking in settings under storage. Should have 1 gig total if you did a 1 gig partition.

Yeah, I wish I had known that an hour ago. My backups on the computer were about a month old. I lost all of my Zenonia 3 progress, and all of my gameboy save files that weren't on my computer (Everything except pokemon emerald and firered). Other than that, I'm okay, but I'm about ready to crawl into a corner and wallow in self-pity reflect on my mistakes.

Re: Help please data2ext.;)

Hi, I tried doing this last night but I couldn't get past the part where you are required to do some unmounting. After trying to execute the command all I got was a line saying "unmount: permission denied" does anyone know how to get around this? Thanks.

Depends on what rom you're using. If you aren't on gingerbread/cm7 it wont work.

What do you mean by this? What if say I wanted to create an ext partition size of 4 gb the recommended max is 1 gb do you know if any problems would occur or just what in general is so bad about it?
