Happy Ship Day everyone!! :)

I preordered my Sprint GS3 through Wirefly. Hasn't shipped yet but I really just need it to ship ON the 21st. That's my expectation. If it ships before then, yay. If it ships after that, boo. If it ships on the 21st, fine.

I preordered mine on the 6th and my email confirmation states shipping by the 18th. Still says in progress. I don't bother calling because after working for AT&T for 5 years I know that calling CS is just a waste of time, unless you like being put on hold while they "research that for you"(translation: let me put you on hold while I go to the breakroom and have a snack and get something to drink and talk to my friends about how stupid your question is before coming back and passing you down the line to someone else who could care less as well). I just wish that they would just send out an email telling everyone that they didn't get the phones in and won't be able to make the timeframe they quoted. I know it's crazy but it would be nice.

At least I get my Skyrocket back tomorrow! Using this old 3GS is making me even more impatient. You are right, I do not think ATT was quite ready.
I think I literally broke my ability to check my status.
Think I hit my check status throttling limit!

Azr...you think you have it bad try going from a Galaxy Note to a BlackBerry Pearl (8310). I feel like If i just got an old clam phone. My work phone is NExtel/Motorola Clam....I am dying here man!!!

VZW release date is July 10th....the 10th man! THATS 21 DAYS FROM NOW!!!!

LOL

I do think it's odd that no one has heard anything yet. I don't see any mention of GS3 shipping anywhere on the internet. However, I won't get officially pissed unless I've heard nothing from ATT by tomorrow. If they maintained the "delivered on or before the 21st" as they originally said when I preordered on day one at 6am only to wait until delivery day to say it's not coming, I'll be pretty hot. But until then, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming it will still arrive as promised.
The latest I get when I ask in a chat session is this:
We have sold out of the device and are waiting for additional inventory. Unfortunately, we do not have an anticipated delivery date as inventory levels vary from day-to-day. You will receive an e-mail from us when your item has shipped.
Of course this is probably their standard reply now after getting bombarded. At least I hope so and it doesn't apply to "first come first serve" as they stated...

Man you people are f'ed up. Why not tweet at Samsung and tell them how mad you are. This isn't AT&T's fault or problem. Haven't you seen all the delays in it releasing across the globe? People in this day an age are way too "entitled".

For those of us who are frustrated with people who pre-ordered who are calling CS repeatedly, chill. Anticipation is half the fun. Stop being a buzzkill.

Sorry guys, but this reminds me so much of the kids when we get in the car to go on a trip. 15 minutes later, its "daddy, are we there yet?" and that question continues every few minutes for the duration of the trip.

So its ONLY the second time you called yesterday? I'm sure there are those in this thread who have called more, for sure, but why is everyone calling repeatedly?

Take a chill pill, folks! Do none of you have a life? My confirmation email says "on or before the 21st" too, but I didn't call them once yesterday. Read this thread once yesterday afternoon, and catching up again this morning. Calling AT&T every half hour will NOT make your phone arrive any faster. I feel for these poor AT&T reps - just like me answering the kids, "no, we're not there yet" over and over and over again.

People are just having fun myself included. Don't be a cranky fuddy duddy.

The cranky fuddy duddies are the ones who are blitzing the poor AT&T CS reps multiple times a day, expecting a different answer than they got last time. Its definitely not fun for those poor reps, guaranteed. To say nothing of the folks trying to get through to CS for a REAL issue...

Sweet, the previous date was the 25th. I think my phone should be able to make it a day or two unprotected.

So what exactly "entitles" you to chastise people on here then?
Yes, Samsung MAY not have delivered to ATT, and totally responsible for a delay.
I do not pay Samsung $4000 a year in service fees. I think that "entitles" me to expect a decent level of customer service. ATT is the one that told me they would ship on the 18th, not Samsung. If they do not have the phones, fine. I would understand and be OK!

Just wish they would be able to communicate a little better.

For the record, YES , many people do act "entitled." This means they feel "entitled" to benefits they have not earned or paid for.

It seems pardoxical, but I feel most everyone on this website knows more than the CSR's in the carrier stores. Very few of them have actually taken time to research the GS3 beyond what their bosses have told them, and of the several times I have called in the past 2 weeks I always got the feeling they were being kept in the dark more than we are.

This ^.
@timberga, the title of this thread is "Happy Ship Day everyone" All these posts are supposed to be related to that. ATT has had my money held since the 6th. Charged or not, it's unavailble to use so, yes, I am entitled to an explanation or update from ATT. Samsung has nothing to do with it. Go troll somewhere else.

A charge for the amount of the phone just hit my bank account. Hopefully that means my GS3 is on its way out the door!

"Woosah *rub earlobes* Woosah"

Hopefully you get the reference. Anywho ( and this is just a blind swing like most of the guesses on here, but I love to theorize too) I was thinking that based on my experience with FedEx stores that we could have an update on orders tonight. They usually do final pickups around 6pm and for 2-day this should be sufficient. Same day and next day just wouldn't be cost effective. I definitely expect people to have info by noon tomorrow.
I went the best buy route so I really hope the S3 is ready for pickup on Thursday because I fly out for a week on Friday and my reservation says they will only hold for 3 days. Hoping for the best and preparing for the not so best. Good luck to everyone staying patient and remember "Woosah"

I'm an equal opportunity hater. ;-) Look, its just comical that people keep calling AT&T. They obviously don't know yet when it will be in stock. As with any product release, delays can occur for various and unexpected reasons. People demanding compensation for a delay is what really gets to me. It's partly whats wrong with society in general. Sue first, ask questions later. I didn't get something perfect, so I want $ because of it.

I think Samsung wants the phone in your hands on the 20th/21st....but we will all find out tomorrow probably when exactly it will be delivered. I'm sure Samsung is strained trying to release the device across the globe in a short time period. They haven't done this before, and are most likely experiencing growing pains in the process.

And yes, I'm in the same boat as all of you.....but based on all the delays I've seen, I'm not putting stock into what the AT&T ordering system says. Back when I bought an iphone 4, it said backordered when the phone arrived at my home.

I'm in the same boat as you. If a "temporary authorization" on your account effects you this much, you shouldn't be buying a phone. I'm not trolling so you get off your high horse.

Well after i saw your post i went ahead and checked my Credit Card where the transaction had been pending since the 13th when i ordered it and was there even as recently as this morning, but now its been removed and i called CC company to question if they showed any pending charges that i could not see but sadly they just gave me the ol', "if a merchant doesn't submit a charge within 5 days of placing the hold it automatically falls off" speal, so i think for mine at least its safe to say "my phone order is moving backwards.." lol

Not too upset becuz i only ordered the SGS III so i could compare it to my (white- Int'l version : ) G-Note that arrived from Amazon last week...

Since you get 30 days to decide, i wanted to make a full scale comparison and see which phone i want to commit to for the next year or so...

But i really have got to say even with the 5.3 inch size, with each passing day i fall more in love with the G-Note, so there's a good chance when i FINALLY get the SGS III i might be sending her right back from whence she came....

BTC

I ordered in store on the 15th. They told us we wouldn't be charged until the phone was ready to be shipped. So we'll see. Just checked the shipping status and it hasn't changed on ATT's website.

That's probably just a hold then, not a charge. It will disappear in a few days. When it comes back as a charge, that means your order will ship.
