Has anyone else besides me decided to return their Photon?

Still having a hard time without multi-tasking but I think I'll be keeping it.

Loading Executive assistant and Enhanced Email is really helping out too.

Every Android phone can multitask beautifully! Are you not aware how to? Simply hold the home button down and you will see all open apps. Android was built for multi-tasking!

He (and I) came from the Pre, which handled multitasking in a much more fluid and obvious way. Having to dig down for previously opened apps and processes takes some getting used to, and task switching was two swipes vs several taps. Certainly it works, just not as smoothly/intuitively. I still don't really miss the Pre as much as I thought I would! :)

Yeah you would have had to be a WebOS user the past couple years to know where these guys are coming from on multitasking. Flipping through cards (apps) is simply wonderful in WebOS. Too bad the hardware was terrible, and an app developer base never caught on like iOS and Android. Ah well.

I'm holding out for a little while longer. I have to exchange it because of an issue I'm having with the backing not completely fitting. The bottom of the back is a little loose so it squeaks when I hold it. So I'm going to at least exchange it but I'm going to wait a little while longer so they hopefully start shipping out models with the new firmware fixing the software issues. If that doesn't happen in the next week or so it's going back and I'll wait for the Samsung E.T. (I refuse to call it the Epic Touch)

I just came from the Sprint store and did notice the pixelation of the screen. I have the Motorola XPRT and it does the same thing, when you change the live wallpaper to the blowing grass. This is very disappointing...I really do want this phone, but great screen and popping colors and smooth graphics...maybe I should take it home to try it but is it worth taking it back and paying the $35 restock fee, KNOWING the screen is sub-par?

The Evo 3d...i'm not a huge fan of the 3d option and coming from the Evo 4g, I was looking for something new...now I'm thinking about the Nexus S, that has the BEST screen at sprint, but its SO PLAIN!

Very tough choice...waiting on the comparisons to show up on Youtube to make my final choice...probably leaning more to the Nexus S, especially with the guaranteed Android updates...
I think all galaxy S phones also use pentile screens -- at least the text is very chunky looking IMO.

I am aware how to, but WebOS does it so much better without question.

Here is an example.... I was switching from the included messaging app to Enhanced Email and needed to copy my signature over for two Exchange accounts. It took opening the messaging app, choosing the account, selecting settings, selecting compose options then copying, selecting the Home button, opening EE, Selecting the account, settings, More, Account settings, General settings, Signature, then pasting.

In WebOS, I have two cards open (the settings page for each email program) next to each other and simply move them back and forth to choose the active app. Copy the info, swipe over to the card beside it, paste and swipe back to the other email program to do the other signature.

THAT is beautiful multi-tasking!

I'm in exactly the same boat as jadiff. Really miss multitasking, miss "just type", but will probably keep it.

Can anyone help me withulti-tasking on the android? I can long-press the home of utton and see what i've used re entry, but most apps (email and phone, not tapatalk) forget what they were doing, and I need to start from scratch. I'm used to just swiping back and forth among cards, and this is driving nuts.

Also not loving the virtual keyboard, but I suppose I will get better at it.

A friend of mine just came back from US with a photon 4G!! I really love it. Maybe it is because I have never owned an android before. Love the features and I thought the screen is pretty cool. Just matter of preference I guess.

Another great keyboard (and I've tried most of them) is SmartKeyboard Pro. Swiftkey.made.me.type.like.this.

You had SwiftKey Quick "." set to insert a period when you double spaced.

I added this in the Keyboards section of the Getting Started under SwiftKey:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
SwiftKey Settings: Tap Home > Menu > Settings > Language & keyboard > SwiftKey X
• Advanced > Spacebar will...: "Always insert a space" gives 3 real predictions. Warning: Defaults to Insert a prediction.
• Advanced > Keyboard feedback: To customize keypress vibrations.
• Advanced > Quick ".": If on, press space twice to get a period. You probably want this off.
• Theme > Theme: To select Light, Dark, or Neon Theme.
• Theme > Arrow keys: To add arrow keys to the keyboard.

I am just going to sell mine on Ebay and get a profit for now. I hate the pentile display after coming from a Nexus S. The Nexus will have to do for now even with its subpar signal strength...

As far as I know the Nexus also has a pentile display. i see the pixels on that screen pretty easily also.

I saw pixels on a billboard today and nearly drove off the road it hurt my eyes so much. :)

I'm thinking about returning it, the screen is fine except the colors seem dull. Last night I added a wallpaper with a purple background, but when I went to use it on the phone the background was black.

I'm probably going to go to a Sprint store in the next few days to check out the Evo 3D and see if I like it.

I ended up returning mine today. I could have lived with the screen door effect, but the color banding in gradients was just too much. It makes the display look extremely cheap.

Now I have the random unresponsive problem that requires a reboot. They have 3 weeks to fix it, or I'm going back to the Evo 4g.

Well, one problem is that there's not very uniform standards for android applications. Some will exit if you hit the back button all the way out, some have an exit option through the menu, and some have no exit option whatsoever (which drives me nuts). If you are trying to preserve the state of a running app while you switch to another, your best hope is to hit the home button directly and navigate from there, or long-press the home button and select the other app, if it was one of your 8 most recent. Unfortunately there is no foolproof way, because apps are very inconsistent. For example, the Youtube app will not maintain your viewing progress if you switch to another app, nor will it ever show up in the 8 most recent apps popup... :-\
