Has anyone managed to scratch their screen?

I currently have a Zagg Invisible shield installed. The only problem I face with it is that it's incompatible with some cases I'd like to use (I like to mix things up now and then). With this I was thinking about removing it. I'm wondering with the S4's Gorilla Glass 3 is the Zagg really necessary? I do not put my phone in my pocket, it's always at least in a belt-clip pouch when I'm out and about with it so sand and grit shouldn't be an issue.

So, those of you that choose to roll with a naked phone or no screen protector, have you screens scratched?

only thing I hate about ZAGG product is that the film color turns. it gets dark and look dirty over time (after 4,5 months) especially if you expose it under the sun light long. I've switched to tempered glass product and I like it better than ZAGG's. of course it's my point of view but I haven't had issue with putting on different cases and such yet. I've also went naked for first few weeks of purchase and haven't gotten any scratches on the screen. i just didn't have anything other than the phone in my pocket and wrap it around with lint free cloth everytime I didn't use it.
screen's worst enemy is the sand or any micro particles that rub against the screen. keys or coins aren't the problems.

yeah Spigen slim nano 0.15mm one. it's thin enough not to add home button booster. home button is flush with the glass height so you can still easily press it.

A lot of the reviews for the GLAS.tR were kinda bad. Hmmm...so you think running w/out a screen protector isn't such a good idea? Maybe I should just leave the ZAGG in place for now and just keep using my Element Eclipse.

What's wrong with just using a plain plastic protector? I'm using a tech armor shield..the $7.99 package came with 3 shields, dust tape, dust clothe and squeegee. It was so easy to install. Very smooth to the touch, no sensitivity issues, not too thick for any of my many cases to fit properly. Give it a try!

I have a glast r and I have no problems with it. I got used to the flushed home button. It's still easy to press. And to answer your question, just because it's gorilla glass 3 doesn't mean the screen itself is scratch proof. The glass itself may be but the coating scratches real easily. 95% of scratches you see on one of these gorilla glass phones will prolly be the scratched coating.

Have mine in a 3rd party sview case, but no screen protector. The sview coveer provides some level of protection when in my pocket or when the phone is otherwise not in use but allows me to use the touchscreen naked for best tactile/gliding performance. I've had my phone for close to three months with no scratches.

3 months with no screen protector. No scratches yet, not even tiny hairline ones. And this is all while putting into gym bags, purses, and other places my iPhone got scratched from. Pretty impressed so far

I'm getting closer and closer to taking the ZAGG of and not using a screen protector or just using a plastic one.

Yes, I scratched mine and I don't even know how. Never dropped it or anything so it couldn't have been something never tough that did it. I always use Zagg protectors, but had not got to the mall yet to have it put on #PissedAtSelf :'(

Whoa. Hmmm...I guess there's no good reason to take the ZAGG off. I don't want the screen scratched...hurts resale.
