OK, I had a strange one yesterday related to this. Ive had the standard BSOD about 4 times where the phone just wont wake up, but the led is flashing since Ive got the phone. yesterday, I just woke up the phone and hit the gmail icon, and the screen went black. This is the first time its happened when I was actually using the phone, but the strange thing is, it went all black except for the status bar at the top. I could still see that. It was completely unresponsive including the power button. I tried to generate a bug report while the phone was in that state, but no dice. Had to pull the battery. The phone started back up when I re-inserted the battery (I didnt hit the power button to turn it on), it just immediately booted up when I put the battery back in. It was strange, but I hope motorola is making progress on a solution. Not rooted, standard battery, and dont really have any "rogue" apps.

Yep, I had a weird one as well the other night. Phone hung during dialing. Pulled the battery and it rebooted and started fine. Would not acquire data and then went black. I managed to pull a bug report, but it wasn't the usual BSOD, so I never sent it.

I've had random reboots about one or two times a week. Today it went unresponsive while browsing and than started to reboot but hung up. Pulled the battery and still could not get it back. For about two hours I tried numerous battery pulls. It rebooted fully one time but that only lasted for a minute or two and shut down. Now I can't get it to turn on. I took it into my local Verizon store and they are sending me a 'new' one overnite but since it's Friday I wont get it till Monday. I'm back on my X for the time being. I wil play with it a bit over the weekend. I would like to get it back up long enough to copy files off of the internal memory.

Had it for two weeks and have that BSOD everyday at least twice. Must pull battery and all is fine. Since I kept the Tbolt I switched back to it as I need a reliable PHONE.

I have had my Bionic BSOD while idle in my pocket.

I have had my Bionic BSOD opening Pandora. There was no phone functionality (power button, volume, home keys) but the Notification/Status/Time bar at the top of the screen remained visible (and unresponsive if I tried to pull down).

I hope this is a software issue and it gets addressed in the next update.

I have a standard batt not rooted had it on phone holder in car. I tried to turn it on but couldn't.

Had to pull batt then turned on.

Had my second one today. almost exactly 7 days since the last one. Almost to the minute.

Standard battery. Not rooted.

Only incident I ever had:

Owned since release day. Latest theory rom.

After sitting for 3 hours off the charger. Screen would not come on. Holding down button would not turn on the phone. Battery pulled, reinserted and then fired back up. Good since. Not worried about. Every phone freaks out at some point.

I had my first BSOD about two weeks ago and had a second one last night. First time it was in a backpack. Last night was in my pocket. Could this happen if the phone is under slight pressure or is being squeezed a little?

Not sure if this is the same BSOD but: Yesterday I was on a normal home screen, tapped the browser icon to start it and the screen went black EXCEPT for the notification area at top. The 4glte icon and bars were still there, battery icon, alarm icon, and clock were are still lit up top. Touch screen was unresponsive, had to pop battery and reboot.

Still stock configuration with a standard battery, and thinking something goofed in the browser app.

Just experienced my first. 14 day period is long gone. :(

Just had 3rd one in last 2 weeks. Pulled it off charger and it wouldn't wake up.

BSOD happens every time I use Bluetooth and allow it to end my call, instead of pressing "end call" on my phone

Damn thing happened again tonight. No reason for it, just sitting in my pocket.

picked up on launch day, had 2 BSODs during the first few days...and probably 8 or 9 more since. did three factory resets since launch day, doesn't help so don't waste your time.

Just got my 3rd BSOD! Maybe low cell signal is causing this?

my gut tells me this is a radio induced problem, but there is no evidence to back that up. i have a Droid (runs perfect) and a Droid X (problematic but still better than the Bionic), neither have ever had an issue like this. the Photon 4g (Sprint), however, has a very similar problem and equally long complaint thread over on Motos' forums. that phone has been out for a while and still there is no fix. the biggest delta between the Bionic and my Droid/Droid X is the 4g radio - which is probably similar to / same as the radio in the Photon 4g.

all just idle speculation of course.

what isn't just speculation is the fact i will not be purchasing any more products made by Moto that aren't stock AOSP and open.

EDIT: and it pains me to come to this decision too - i purchased the Droid, Droid X and my Xoom tablet all at full retail, i really like Moto but i also need a phone that actually works.
