I recently was disappointed to find that I cannot connect to open (unsecure) Wi-Fi networks with a confirmation page.
This happens in airports, hospitals, cafes, etc.

When I tried with Galaxy Note 3, works as follows:
Settings -> Wi-Fi
Find open network, tap.
A web page comes up in browser requesting confirmation or registration or equivalent action.
After agreeing to this page, connection to network is complete.

On my Galaxy Note Pro 12.2:
Settings -> Wi-Fi
Find open network, tap.
Status briefly shows as "connecting..."
Shortly thereafter, status changes to "Saved"
Connection is NOT completed.

After nearly 2 hours on the phone, both Verizon and Samsung were unable or unwilling to help.

Help is most appreciated.

Thank you.

Ori

Well, I think the problem is with the router mac filtering in some routers MAC filtering is enabled I think Galaxy Note3 mac address is stored in the router while your Note Pro mac address isn't stored in the router. Why don't you try contacting with the network administrator in this case ???

Hmm. Usually for me a few attempts at hitting a web page in a browser will prompt me for a login and then I'm on my way.

yea, I intermittantly have that issue with both my Ultrabook and Note Pro so I don't think it is specific to the note pro. Sometimes it takes a while to get thelogin page to come up. When that happens I usually create a bookmark for the next time which always works.

muzzy996, bill-e,

I have tried many times over with no success. I was in the hospital for a few days with only my tablet to keep me company, and no success with getting internet connection. It was tough.
If the page ever comes up I will follow bill-e's suggestion and bookmark the page.
I think it is an Android problem because in version 4.2 no problem and 4.4 introduced this problem.
Is there a way to communicate such problems to Google?

I've had that issue also. If I try with built in (Android) browser I never have problem getting Wifi connection, then I use whatever browser I want.

When this happens just go up to the search bar & type in cnn.com u might have to do it twice..but eventually it will bring up the wifi's sign on page :)

In Chrome, go to Settings > Privacy > then un-tick 'Safe Browsing'. This did the job for me :)
Don't forget to change the settings back for safe browsing!
