HELP! Properly update to 4.4

Hello all!

I'm currently on 4.3 rooted with LTE hack and just got the push for 4.4. I'm not entirely sure how to go about updating. Is it safe to do the OTA since I'm rooted with a modified radio for LTE? If so, I'm assuming I just re-root.

Please let me know what the best/proper way to update is! I just don't want to brick/harm anything!

Revert to stock radios and then flash the OTA file through the custom recovery, but that's dangerous. The way I did was wipe and restored to stock then I updated to 4.4 then rerooted.

I tried the OTA with the hybrid radio (reverted to stock radio beforehand), TWRP, superuser, etc. and it didn't work (didn't change anything of my 4.3 install). This is how I updated to 4.4 without losing any of my data, apps, settings, etc.:
