Honeymoon Period

I lasted not even 24 hours on the pixel 2 XL granted I didn't give it the amount of time I wanted but for me the size is very cumbersome and I got so used to X size. Also I realized in the small amount of time that I do like a lot of little things on android much better (the way notifications are handled, some apps are nicer, more customization, custom ringtones) but those things don't outweigh why I use an iPhone (iMessage, FaceTime, homekit, etc. )

Hey I believe me and you where chatting on the iPhone X forum under "Anyone having buyers remorse", So did you take the pludge and try it? I'm about to sell my X this week and jump ship.

I am still enjoying the Honeymoon. I have had it for 1 month now. Deep down the cheap accountant in me nags me about the price. I was going to swap out my Pixel XL but changed my mind. Going to keep it as backup.

But, this phone is excellent! Expensive yes but worth it to me so far.
Ha ha, yeah, I hear ya! I waited for a $300 discount from Verizon before I got my 2 XL. If the cost bothers you consider that you use your phone every day, it's an essential everyday tool and entertainment device, and it wouldn't be proper to get something lesser that you really didn't want.

Then break the cost down into little pieces. If you have the phone for 2 1/2 years, it's only $1 a day. A lesser phone would have been 75 cents a day. You were going to get a phone no matter what--aren't you worth an extra 25 cents a day?

That's how I justify it, anyway.

Wow, this is the greatest phone analogy I've ever heard. This is great! And also, maybe a little scary for my wallet...

Seriously, I'm so glad I read this. 😃

That's how I'm going to justify buying a new Corvette.

Honeymoon is just starting for me. Pulled the trigger this weekend with Verizon doing the $300 off with no strings, other than 2 year commitment. I'm coming off my OG Droid Turbo, which I've used for 3 years. I was looking for a phone that will last me another 3 years. That's the main driver for getting the Pixel 2 XL. 3 years of OS and security updates (minimum) and 2 year hardware warranty.
I'm using the squeeze more than I thought I would (once I got it working). I like the screen and its calibration. The blue shift, while noticable when looking for it, doesn't bother me at all during normal usage. Battery life so far has been good. I like that it didn't come with all the typical Verizon bloatware.
I'm still adjusting to losing some of the Moto features. Losing good voice texting while driving has been the biggest. I'm just starting to look at my options.

My experience matches yours
Droid Turbo for three years.
Bought Pixel 2 XL with Verizon $300 discount.
Using squeeze a lot more than I thought.
Blue tint a non-factor.

Differences
Not really missing Moto features
Never did voice texting while driving. My vehicle has that ability, but I never activated it.
Astounded at Pixel 2 XL battery life. I thought nothing could touch my Turbo battery life.
Pixel 2 camera speed and quality amazes me. I might miss Turbo's giant 21 MP shots though. We'll see.

I hate my 2xl lol, I go through periods of where I tolerate it and where I hate it and then where I like it. Right now I just hate it but it is what it is
Note 8 owner "hates" Pixel 2 XL. I think we can safely assume there is one, and only one phone for her.

Nah, I go through moments where I hate all of my phones, love them all, and tolerate them all. Pixels in the hate phase currently. a jailbroken iPhone is the "only" phone for me seeing as I get the best of both worlds but yeah we know how alive that scene is now.

I did. But didn't last long

I am back on my iPhone X lol

Nice Nice. I'm trying it tonight, going Note 8 and going to give it a really good try. The S-Pen in my line of work will be nice, plus my little one can use it to draw and color ( stay entertained out at dinner lol)

Good luck! Let me know how you make out

this phone has been my favorite phone I've had. I've gone through so many phones over the past couple years each time I get a itch try something new because there is always that one thing that keeps me from keeping it long term. now that I've had the phone I have no itch to get a different phone even in the slightest even with it supposed flaws it's the perfect phone for me.

the features I didn't expect to use so much is the squeeze it's to the point I have upgraded half my house with smart things to use the assistant with. other than that I appreciate all the small touches i.e pull down notification shade with the fingerprint, the auto theme of the pixel launcher ( while not perfect it's close) . looking forward to seeing how it improves with updates

I'm looking to add more smart objects to my home as well so if you have any recommendations please let me know! :)

I know it's not a Pixel specific thing but I REALLY love swiping over to the Google now cards to see what new tech related articles are there.

Just found out that 8.1 is rolling out. Lol
