Hotspot Unlimited Data Loophole Question

So I've been reading a lot about the mobile hotspot trick to get unlimited data, and I was wondering if I got this trick to work, would my account immediately be billed $30 extra for the current month on top of my already $30 for 4gb of data?

And if I got the hotspot plan successfully added, is my old 4gb plan automatically removed? (So I don't get charged $60 a month for some reason)

Thanks

Here is how it works - when the $30 MHS is added, it replaces your $30 4GB of data plan with a $29.99 unlimited data plan. It also adds a $30 fee in the features for the MHS.

What others have been able to do is remove the $30 fee in the features for the MHS and then the $29.99 unlimited data stays.

so worst case scenario is that i may get charged a $30 fee on top of my current $30 plan for this month? but it's likely i won't have to pay that fee and i will have a $30 unlimited from now on?

I'm going to call them in the more king and see what I can find out.

Ive did this almost a month ago. Call and add the feature. Then As soon as I got off the phone, I went to my account and removed the 4G Hotspot and it left me with Unlimited Data. I still dont even go over 3GB a month so it might be useless for me, but its nice to look at that widget and it constantly says Unlimited. If you remove it right away after adding it, you wont be charged a $30 fee that month. Probably just a really small pro rated amount.

I've never seen any1 get banned on these forums b4

I didn't know there was a trick to get unlimited data
I'm one of the lucky ones that's grandfathered in to it and also have unlimited mhs.

My question is are they going to revert back to your old data plan and remove the unlimited hotspot since they don't offer it on their web site and i cant find a unlimited data pack any place. They could say it was a computer glitch and that the unlimited data and hot spot was a bundle and then remove that plan. I mean hell were dealing with people who wanted a extra $2 a month to pay our bill.

I got the unlimited data and hotspot "plan on keeping it"

I mean this sounds like it could

certainly work because im sure there are plenty of people that eventually remove the hotspot feature, and since verizon offers it, they cant make a big deal about people cancelling since they give the option.

Yeah but it is a loop hole and im pretty sure verizon's legal team could work something up since they no longer offer a separate unlimited date plan and blame it on a glitch in the system and revert everyone back. Or just throttle the living crap out of everyone who did it lol. I kinda think that would be funny. Oh you want unlimited data for $40 a month. enjoy your metro pcs speeds lol

Little off topic my gnex went crazy last night and used up about 50megs of data from the android market when i was sleeping. Never did that before.

I've read people talk about data throttling and they said Verizon doesn't do it. If the worst case is that in a month or two I get set back to my original plan, I wouldn't mind going nuts for a month of two with unlimited data hahaha

If they revert you back, its not your fault but there's. And its fine. But if you don't go over 4GB a month really often, I don't think there gonna be able to tell cause your not doing something out of the ordinary. 3 stores looked Into my account so far and noticed I had unlimited data. They said your unlimited data shouldn't be affected by buying a Nexus.

They must have not noticed I became a Verizon customer 3 months ago lol

also my dad is the account owner and he has 2 unlimited grandfathered plans already on there for him and my sister but this was my first smartphone so i didn't get grandfathered in. so having another unlimited plan isn't going to look strange and hes already paying like a $300 bill for 4 phones with 3 data plans texting calling etc.

I called and no one knows what I'm talking about. They said that if u add the mobile hotspots, you do not get unlimited data, it will just add 2 gb of data for the mobile hot spot.

This. I tried twice with no luck.

Call them up and tell them the feature number. Then say you want unlimited mobile hotspot. First call i did guy said it would cut my data down from 10gigs to 6gigs called back a hour later and they hooked me up. Account management shows unlimited data and my phone shows it to.
